Our Mother gifted me with a most unusual experience today when I was out walking.

She had told us earlier when we visited Guan Yin’s Shrine of the Madonna, to pay attention to a Message from the Mother when it came. I had spoken earlier about the Protection of the Mother at Guan Yin’s Shrine.

This beautiful Shrine to the Mother and Child, which is considered most holy, as Guan Yin sheltered Christians who were being persecuted by the rulers of the time, is called Maria Guan Yin* or Virgin Mary and Kannon – The Merciful Mothers.

The Message was delivered as I was walking. I was suddenly overcome by the Presence of Maitreya and as He spoke to me His Light flowed through me.

The Message was simple “Take the Mother, the perfection of wisdom, as the object of worship, just as I did in my ‘Ornament for the Realisations’ “

The feeling and power immersed me in profound stillness and Presence for quite some time.

The Buddha Maitreya stated that Divine Mother is the Mother of All Buddhas and All Christs. It was so incredible to feel Maitreya guiding this wisdom through me. The Mother of the Buddhas is Wisdom (Prajna) because Her Wisdom gives rise to Buddhahood and Christ Consciousness. Without Her Wisdom you cannot become a Christ, a Buddha. The Wisdom is the Mother giving birth to the Buddhas and Christs. The Mother’s Wisdom gives rise to higher states other than the Christ and Buddha Consciousness such as the Mary Magdalene and Guan Yin Consciousness and other states that Maitreya mentions. The Mother’s Wisdom gives rise to the Great Bodhisattvas of this age such as you and I, when your whole being is totally devoted to liberating the souls of all others on this planet and all worlds.

In the mid-17th century, outlawed Christians (mostly in the Nagasaki area) created statues of the Virgin Mary (Mother of Jesus) disguised as the Buddhist deity Kannon (Goddess of Mercy). These images, called Maria Kannon マリア観音, were made or altered to look like Kannon, so She could hide their real intent to be worshipped as Mother Mary. A Christian cross was sometimes hidden within the image.

Christianity in Japan was banned for over two centuries during the Tokugawa Era 徳川時代 (+1615-1867), more commonly known as the Edo Period 江戸時代. The authorities, eager to eradicate this foreign religion, executed and imprisoned thousands of Japanese Christians, and ordered all families to register with local Buddhist parishes. To conceal their faith, Christians thereafter pretended to be Buddhist lay people, yet they secretly maintained their faith with clandestine codes and ingenious adaptations.

We were privileged to be in the Divine Presence of the Madonna in this form.

Guan Yin is the Mother to many children and Her Light and Love fills the Presence of Sacred Shrines like the one we visited.
