DALAI LAMA 3 DAY RETREAT

DALAI LAMA DAY 1

Dear Enlightened Ones

It is always such a blessing to be with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, this time I was in Yokohama Japan for a 3 day retreat.

The Dalai Lama began the day with a talk about us all being One Family of Love and Compassion.

Here is the core of His teachings for today for you.

We are all One Family of Love and Compassion no matter what religion or history or scientific background.

Happiness comes from peace of mind and we cultivate happiness through love and compassion and practicing patience and kindness.

Obstacles like anger, delusion and attachment act as a veil to the mind. When we purify these we become free and see reality as it is.

The Heart Sutra of Avalokiteshvara Guan Yin is like an Ancient Mother.

She teaches us the wisdom of emptiness which means seeing that things have no external existence (at this point in my meditation and contemplation on this a bright violet blue orb appeared) and also teaches the essence and importance of Bodhicitta which means to have an altruistic intention to cherish others and then to liberate others.

In dreams we can see an elephant and when we wake up know it is not real so in life we can see a partner or friend as frustrating and be angry at them but then the next day be fine and calm around them showing us that those impressions we have of people through the impurified mind or consciousness are unreliable. When you are aware of that in the present, in that moment, you are awake. Awareness is luminous. Past and future have no existence.

Liberation of your self comes down to cherishing others. When you have compassion you see suffering in others and develop empathy because you can see how ignorant others are of how things are. So there is a strong desire to help. To take on the suffering of others.

Maitreya taught the Buddha Nature is All One so there is no division between teachings on love and compassion.

Afflictive emotions like anger can be used to see into the nature of emptiness and luminosity. When you are angry you believe your reasons for being angry are real. If you see directly into the nature of things and see that these feelings change so realize the nature of change and see that these feelings dissipate so are empty of any real existence so realize the nature of emptiness then you can use these to liberate.

Quantum physics points to things having no objective existence.

Ask yourself who is this body this voice this mind? Who am I?

We appear to each other as if we are real but where are you? Are you the body? Are you the voice? Are you the mind?

The nature of these forms is emptiness. They all change and eventually transform and dissolve.

Things exist by Name. The Dalai Lama had a “lightning bolt” of realization about the “I” the Name we give to ourself and the identity feelings thoughts we attach to it.

By cultivating the path of perfection of wisdom we make the intention to help all beings and bring love and compassion wherever we go. We see the truth of emptiness, that there is no “I” and seek to liberate ourselves by cherishing others. By letting go of self-cherishing and “I” we open to a deeper luminous awareness of All That Is.

Stages of Meditation

Past and future lives can be discovered. They are based on dependent origination. The roots of compassion in us all are a special resolve to bring all sentient beings to enlightenment.

There are different types of suffering to be free from.
Suffering of suffering. Suffering of change. Suffering of conditions or conditioning.

Then afflictive emotions.

And karma.

Cherishing others with an altruistic attitude and emptiness is helped by meditation. Meditation on equanimity, on love and kindness, on compassion and on wisdom.

Meditation practice on emptiness involves perfecting singe pointed concentration to begin with.

Training in mindfulness and introspection develops concentration.

1. To begin choose a quiet serene place.

2. Physical posture – Vajra cross legged or lotus or chair.
Hands held together in Mudra. Left hand under right and two thumbs touching against the navel.
Straighten spine.
Tip of tongue to upper palate. Eyes on top of nose or straight ahead or slightly uplifted.
Eyes Half open.
Shoulders relaxed.
This is important for later Tantric practices where you use the breath to breathe light and energy in the spine and the flow of energy in the right and left channel needs to be balanced.

3. Use an object of focus to begin with. A flame or flower or piece of wood. This uses the 6th mind, not visual consciousness for example. Focus on the image of the flower in your mind. Stay singled pointed for a long time until you can hold the object in mind with calm abiding.
The Dalai Lama joked that he had met Hindu Sadhus in the Himalayas with better focus than Buddhist monks!

4. Special insight. You begin to see things as they are in extraordinary ways. You see into the formless realms and Higher Realms that all saints and mystics and Buddhas and Christs and Mohammeds and Krishnas and Avalokiteshvara Guan Yins have spoken of. The Dalai Lama said from his conversations with all Masters they all agree on these basic points and He is on the lookout to meet many more beings who have developed single pointed focus and insight into the nature of things!

The Notion of an Independent self is the root of all delusion.

There is no self.

There is no “I”

Nothing can be found.

The innate clear light mind is not the self.

Within consciousness there are degrees of subtlety. Past and future lives are explained on the basis of self.

As the self becomes more transparent to the light the memory of these past and future lives is realized. Some children have clear memories of their past lives. There is a child in New York who has a past life memory of dying in the tragedy of 9/11.

There are meditators the Dalai Lama has met who can keep a single focus in their mind for 3-4 hours and can stay in the subtle clear light of death at the point they transitioned through long and continuous practice.

To develop calm abiding you have to calm the mind and place it again and again in that state through practice.

The main obstacles are mental laxity and mental excitation.

Alertness must be there.

If your mind is dull or lax or cloudy like daydreaming and you have lost alertness then you need to practice uplifting the mind like visualizing the Buddha or Christ in illuminated bodies. Tantric Yoga is particularly useful wheee you meditate visualizing yourself as a deity and doing it within emptiness. Some yogis can project their bodies out into other bodies.

If your mind is too excited then meditate on emptiness.

Then contemplate what arises.

And develop special insight or Vipassana.

DALAI LAMA DAY 2

Avalokiteshvara Guan Yin Initiation

This was a completely different day to day 1.

To begin with I met up with such a diverse group of people, Mongolian and Tibetan monks and devotees who had traveled all the way to Japan to receive this initiation. Many did not speak English or Japanese so we spoke with my smattering of Tibetan and lots of gestures and acting out scenarios.

It was a day of energies and as the Dalai put it, channels, winds and bliss drops.

The actual ritual is secret so I cannot share the techniques although you can find many similar techniques documented in my favorite book by the Dalai Lama, Kalachakra Tantra: Rite of Initiation.

https://www.amazon.com/Kalachakra-Tantra-Holiness-Dalai-Lama/dp/0861711513

The Avalokiteshvara Initiation is a Secret Mantrayana Ritual. Fundamentally you visualize yourself as the deity Avalokiteshvara Guan Yin although the experience is far more profound than my words can say. Perhaps because of my karmic predisposition, although I have a very fresh beginners mind, I was able to devour the energies like a starving man and as such went through some quite startling, even shocking transformations, as if a lightning bolt had struck me. Those blessings in particular I dedicate to all beings.

THE VOWS

The initiation begins with taking vows. These include layperson vows, monk and nun vows and Bodhisattva vows. To summarize these the Dalai Lama says, is to be kind to everyone. To not wish anyone harm in thought word or action.

I will share the one I use daily here with you, should you wish to use it. It is derived from the one I took when I did the Kalachakra Tantra.

“From my Heart I go for refuge to the three jewels, Buddha, Dharma, Sangha, Christ Krishna, Divine Mother. I will free all beings from pain and set all in final bliss. To do that I will generate an altruistic intention to attain perfect enlightenment, and thereupon will train in the learnings of Bodhisattvas, Archangels and Elders/Masters.”

Whatever Vow you take, a formal one or one that you create yourself, the Dalai Lama recommends saying this with a deep pure intention at least 6 times a day. I say it in the following way. As you open your eyes upon rising, in your morning meditation, in your midday meditation, at some point in your afternoon, in your evening meditation, and as you close your eyes to go to sleep.

THE  INITIATION

The Avalokiteshvara Initiation is comprised of Secret Mantra and Secret Kriya. It comes from Tibet and the tradition of the 17 Nalanda Masters. It involves activating energies in the channels, winds and bliss drops in the physical body and light body. The Buddha tailored these techniques for specific disciples and arose in different bodies, sometimes a celibate monk and sometimes a deity to teach these.

THE VISIONS

It comes from the Hidden Terma (treasure) or Profound Vision tradition.

The initiation we took came from the 5th Dalai Lama. The 5th had many visions of deities and shared 25 cycles of visionary teachings. These are called the Father Teachings.

Each of the Dalai Lamas was famous for particular visions. The 1st had visions of white and green Tara. The 2nd had visions from childhood and composed music and chants about them. The current Dalai Lama has dreams not visions. He joked about this by saying he was the only Dalai Lama who has not had visions of deities but he takes consolation from the fact that he is the most famous Dalai Lama.

MY VISIONS

Though I cannot share the specific techniques of the initiation (the Dalai Lama asked us not to share them) I can share the visions I received as they are very personal and do not in any way reveal the secret process.

I hope that you may relate to some of them.

As many of you know, I have had a deep connection to the Fifth Dalai Lama over a long period of time. I had five visions over the course of this initiation.

The First

A dark-haired woman with tanned skin appeared suddenly with eyes blazing with light. It was quite shocking. This was a form of Palden Lhamo. She is the Protector of Tibet.

The Second

I was transported bodily to a world I did not recognize, somewhat similar to the windswept snowy slopes of the Tibetan highlands with all my senses fully on and engaged yet I feel it was not there.

The Third

I was witness to what I would describe as twin Vajras spinning horizontally with tremendous force.

The Fourth

I was aware of an enormous pillar of light we all are connected to that ran the length of my spine above and below and connected space and spacelessness. It was immovable and yet highly volatile like being connected to a God-cable through heaven and earth. My body shook as if unable to contain the voltage. This was a somewhat shocking part of the initiation and I felt as if I might pass out.

The Fifth

There was a point at which this body dissolved, and the physical body was “replaced” by another in full light body “form”. I recognized it as our ultimate truth and the energy and consciousness was overwhelming and entirely magnificent. It left me in tears.

THE STORIES

Today the Dalai Lama told many stories.

He shared about famous Thangka (sacred art) of Avalokiteshvara and the effect it had on devotees leading them into trance and ecstacy.

He told the story of Je Tsongkhapa’s vision of Manjushri sitting in a circle of Blue Light.

He spoke about how the 5th Dalai Lama’s visions emerged from the Heart of Avalokiteshvara.

He told us about a statue in Potala that when he prayed in front of it its expression changed. He had seen the face change from serious to smiling.

He also had a dream of Avalokiteshvara where he got to ask about the depth of realization of emptiness and have many of his own personal questions about enlightenment answered.

He sees Avalokiteshvara on his own shoulder. He said “I act as Messenger for Avalokiteshvara”. And he said he was born to do this.

He told stories about Nagarjuna and his feats of moving beneath the ground and flying.

But he said the real miracle is in the transformation of the mind through the Master’s writing.

He spoke about how magnificent the true teachings and writings of all traditions are and that all religions are beneficial.

He spoke about the types of visions and that the profound visions were when deities appear to Masters when the Master’s eyes are open.

He said there is a Divine plan in place.

He said the divine plan was about spreading a spirituality that was sovereign and unified, and that all religions were part of that.

The Dalai Lama ended the initiation with the aphorism, “NO BEGINNING, NO END” in true tantra and alchemy tradition.

DALAI LAMA DAY 3

The third day of the retreat with the Dalai Lama started with a debate between His Holiness and three well-known scientists, a psychologist, a neuroscientist and a quantum physicist.

From the outset the Dalai Lama made it very clear he was here to discuss and investigate the mind and consciousness, because, he explained, science seems to have very few answers about what consciousness is and how it operates. He said he was like an alchemist, who checks to see it the gold is pure and that anything we believe we should investigate it thoroughly until it becomes clear and only then accept it.

I really took this to heart as you will see later when I got the opportunity to speak to the Dalai Lama directly as I have on each occasion I have met him. I feel so blessed as just like with Jesus/Yeshua, Yogananda and Babaji, and Guan Yin, I feel I have had ‘personal tuition’ on the path with heart!

A BRIEF SUMMARY OF MY OWN CONNECTIONS TO THE DALAI LAMA

In case you haven’t followed my particular process with the Dalai Lama, I dreamed when I was 2 years old that I was one of his monks at Samye Monastery. I had the same dream every night for a year, a dream in which I fell into an abyss, heard the sacred OM sound and saw the clear light.

Then in my twenties when I was running a company I sponsored his first trip to New Zealand in which I was granted a personal audience with him and when I met him his simple advice to me was to follow the path of love and compassion.

Some years later when I met the Dalai Lama again he guided me to follow the path of Avalokiteshvara Guan Yin with the love and affection of a mother for her child. Then, while doing the Kalachakra Tantra (a Ritual I followed for over a year devotedly) he appeared to me in a profound vision (he appeared to me with my eyes open after I had breakfast one morning) and guided me into the techniques of subtler consciousness of the Kalachakra.

When I came to do the actual initiation, which I did with deep devotion over a 12 day period, online, as the Dalai Lama specifically stated that Tibetans who lived abroad would be able to receive the initiation if they applied themselves with deep faith and devotion (and I considered myself a Tibetan because of my past life experience over a year as a 2 year old until when I was 3) I experienced two profound moments.

One was while I was in a train meditating on the fire part of the ritual. Suddenly my hand caught on fire and my thumb burst into a flame and I was left with a burnt thumb which I had to nurse when I got back home.

The second was when doing the rebirth part of the initiation at home I spontaneously changed the ritual to include the Archangel Metatron and Guan Yin in Union and my mind burst into light and in the most shocking event of my life there was no meditator and no meditation for three days, an event my wife witnessed.

That was my experience of the clear light. I realized we were made of light and the divine light was our birthright and as the Dalai Lama said, I was able to test it and verify its authenticity. As Jesus said, if your eye is single then your entire body is filled with light.

A WORLD IN CRISIS

The Dalai Lama said our world is in an emotional crisis. He said we are repeating our mistakes and that violence is out-dated. It is not the right method. The key is inner peace. If we want to de-militarize the world then we need to inner de-militarize ourselves. Constant anger and fear weakens our immune system.

The Dalai Lama does not spread Buddhism in the West anymore because the West has a Judeo-Christian tradition. He spoke to a Christian monk who was a well-known speaker who asked him how to develop emptiness. “Don’t ask,” joked the Dalai Lama. “It is none of your business.” He told the monk that if he put doubt into people’s minds he would feel uncomfortable. Whereas he feels comfortable teaching in Japan as it is a Buddhist country.

SCIENCE AND WISDOM

The Dalai Lama kept repeating this, that he felt very happy, there was no hesitation, the he truly appreciated the opportunity and I could really feel it. Something was different. Something had changed.

He praised Indian psychology, the Vedas and the yoga systems saying how highly developed they were and that the Buddha himself used them. He said they were like the university and modern psychology was like being in kindergarten. He repeated often that with all our modern psychology, education and technology we are failing our children and our people.

He gave a number of examples of where science is unable to explain phenomena. At death, The Dalai Lama’s senior tutor and Yogananda’s body stayed fresh for many days after passing showing how deeply a meditators kind affects the brain and body.

He spoke about Dreamtime and how sensorial consciousness is not active but other consciousness is.

NO BEGINNING, NO END

He talked a lot about no beginning no end.
About how when the brain stops there is subtle consciousness (this helped me explain why I could experience the clear light because of what happened to me as a two-year old when I repeatedly died).

He gave another example of a Tibetan monk in New Zealand whose body remained very fresh after death. On the 4th night three fingers of his left hand moved to hold his right hand showing these subtle levels of consciousness and the 4 levels of emptiness. That around the 2nd level of emptiness at death the body consciousness dissolved into emptiness but the bright kind or subtle consciousness continues.

He asked the scientists to explain when is consciousness formed and at what point?

He also asked the scientists to explain the cause of the Big Bang.

On both points they were forced to admit they didn’t know.

TALKING WITH THE DALAI LAMA

A small group of us were allowed to be part of the final discussion and again I was blessed to be chosen. I was the first to speak to His Holiness and the scientists and I asked the following question.

“Your Holiness, from the age of two to three I had a recurring dream as a Tibetan monk, every night, in which I died and experienced the cosmic sound of OM and the clear light. From my own observations of space time it would seem that space and time emerged from nothing at the moment of the Big Bang, from an emptiness as it were. In our universe the constant is light and light is the only exception from the fact that it can propagate in a vacuum or emptiness. Einstein intuited the theory of relativity from observing light. Christ and the Buddha tell us be the Light of the world and be a Light unto ourselves. What can be learned about the origins of consciousness by observing clear light in meditation and studying its connection to physical light like an Einstein-Buddha?”

The Dalai Lama answered me by first addressing my dream experience. He said that I should follow the practices of dream yoga (as outlined in the six yogas of Naropa) and practice realizing the clear light within the dream. He explained that the subtle consciousness is awake generally only through dreaming and deep meditation and so dreaming affords a remarkable opportunity to know the self by realizing you are dreaming within the dream. Then you are able to practice witnessing consciousness at play within the dream and awaken within the dream with clarity at the same time. (In beautiful synchronicity this is actually one of the practices I outlined in the first chapter of Portals of Presence at the end of my book Diary of a Yogi: A Book of Awakening.)

He then went on to talk about the clear Light. He said the Experience of the Light the Masters speak about is a direct experience of the Source. No beginning no end. The Dalai Lama joked and said he had tried to realize clear light consciousness but failed. That it was a very difficult subtle experience of consciousness and not his experience so far.

YOU ARE YOUR OWN MASTER

His Final Speech was as follows.

You are your own Master.

Be a Light for the World

Take this amazing opportunity of a human life and use it well.

Become like Nagarjuna who was both a scientist and a meditator.

If you are suffering look for the “I” that is complaining. Where is it?

He told a story of a woman who was suffering. He told her “If you think the “I” is in the heart, what shape is it? Imagine the Dalai Lama there in your heart with you. He will help take the burden of your suffering.”

Be like a mother with the affection for her child.

Educate the world with love and kindness and compassion.

If you are involved in any spiritual education and technology, we need more education on human values to unite our world.

Finally he said “Meditate for 30 min to an hour every day for inner peace. That is the bare minimum”

Altair and Mother with the Dalai Lama

POTALAKA

Chapter 9 – Potalaka

Altair was alone in the cave. After six months he began look more deeply into his journey across the bridge between worlds as his mind and heart grew calmer. He saw more of the light because he now saw more of the darkness.

He began to question the nature of consciousness itself. If everything around him and within him was God or Source or Buddha then surely he could communicate with that pure consciousness like he did with extraterrestrials and dolphins and Tanya.

He let his mind grow calm and surrendered to the stillness within the cave.

At first nothing happened. Altair knew not to expect anything. He just sat still with his inner eye fixed on the third eye area and waited. He sent out a soul call to the One, the Source of All Love like a dart filled with desire to see the Beloved and he rested In total faith that an answer would come.

Altair became aware of a subtle change. The air around him became still as if matching the stillness he was resting in within. The consciousness that was the air began to arrange itself like a cosmos of consciousness and he could feel tendrils of that consciousness reaching out to touch him, the awareness that he called Altair.

He felt the hairs prickle on the back of his neck. He became aware of the cave and the paintings and statues, the lawn outside, the garden, Priya and the children sleeping, the house and other houses with people asleep in the neighborhood, the beach that started just down at the end of the street, the waves and the great ocean the waves were part of, the waves that were conscious, the ocean that was breathing, the sky above that was listening, the stars looking down, everything connected, to us.

It was as if he had connected to he heart of the world, the mind of the cosmos. The stars themselves were whirling and spiraling around him, jumping and diving in the universal currents.

Then he heard a voice. And saw a face. In front of him. It could have been Swami Shyam or Sai Baba. Mother Mary or Guan Yin.

  And all it said was

“Sleep. Remember your dreams and visions, meditate upon them. Then act. So sleep child.”

  So he did.

His dream was simple and very clear. Sai Baba came to him in the dream.

“Visit Bruce. Tell him I want to see him. That is all you need to do. When it is time I will come to you in another form, as a Chintamani Stone in the form of a pearl and Amrita in the form of nectar. Until then know that the living consciousness of All That Is comes to you in the form of the Masters. All of them, Christ Krishna Buddha Mohammed Thoth All Divine Mothers are all embodiments of the one pure existence consciousness and bliss that is Love and Wisdom and speak the same truth with One Voice.”

When he woke he took a deep breath, pushed the covers back and opened the garden shed door. The morning was bright and filled with wonder. He could feel his heart racing with fresh new blood, a cosmic detective on the trail of the greatest mystery of all. Life.

He didn’t go in for breakfast, he got straight in his car and drove over to Bruce’s place. He had known Bruce for years, Bruce was a friend of both he and Priya and Tanya’s and a wild man when it came to love. He had no end of female suitors pursuing him but he always claimed he was free and open so no one woman ever lasted long. He was still in bed when Altair called.

  “Bruce, wake up!”

“Altair, are you nuts? I’m not awake. Go away. Go home. Do something useful with your life!”

“I had a dream about Sai Baba. He came to me and told me he wants to see you.”

  There was complete silence.

“Bruce?” Altair opened the door and walked in. Bruce was lying awake on the sofa in the lounge.

“I had the same dream. Sai Baba told me he wants me to go and see him in India.”

  “So are you going?”

“Nah, I always believe in three signs. Tell me if he visits you again.”

Altair walked out, irritated. Surely Bruce wasn’t that stupid.

He drove into town and had to get some cash out before he started work. He stopped at an ATM machine just next to the cathedral.

There was a woman standing in front of him in the line at the machine. She was taking a long time withdrawing her cash. Altair hummed a tune impatiently. He didn’t want to be late for his first meeting.

The woman turned around but instead of leaving she stared straight at, or rather through Altair.

“Tell your friend Bruce he needs to come and see Sai Baba in India.”

Then she turned on her heel and walked off into the early morning breakfast crowd.

Altair now knew he must find a Chintamani Stone in the form of a pearl. Both Sai Baba and Manjushri had mentioned it. But where? He knew it would come from the heart of Guan Yin but what did that mean? The only answers ever came when he surrendered totally to the stillness and right now he had to attend a meeting. He was late when he arrived. And he was dreamy when he was supposed to be concentrating on their next marketing trip to Europe.

  “What?” asked Altair.

“You should go on your own,” said Mark.

“You’re the most experienced,” said Frances. She looked at Altair with concern.

  “Are you OK? No sleep?”

  “Right,” said Altair.

“Get a coffee at the break. The Arts Centre has the best.”

“The Arts Centre? But I don’t drink coffee.”

Frances laughed. “That’s code for take a decent break. Walk off those blues.”

Altair took the hint. As business partners Mark and Frances had been very good to him. Allowing him time away from the business whenever he needed it. So after an hour he walked down to the Arts Centre, which was full of crazy stalls and market bargains at any time of the year.

“Want custom clothes?” asked Colleen, the auburn haired woman at ZigZag. She dealt in one off clothing and Altair rather liked what she imported.

“This top is great,” said Altair, choosing a pattern of black, red, green and white that he had never seen before. “How about the bottoms?”

“Sorry,” said Colleen. “Strangely a young woman bought them this morning just before you came here. Striking blonde. Said she wanted them for a singing audition. Didn’t want the top.”

Altair looked at Colleen for a moment. “Oh well, if they are supposed to get back together they will,” he said.

Pity, he thought, they would have looked so good together.

Altair slept fitfully in the cave that night, filled with dreams of Dakinis that beckoned him on the one hand into the light and Demons on the other that enticed him into the dark. He was drowsy when he woke and hurried into the house once he saw Priya’s car drive off with the children for school. He had a band meeting after work where he was auditioning a new singer and he wanted to make sure he had all the music. He made tea and toasted barley bread with Manuka Honey. As well as starting a company he also had formed a band so his world was taking shape again.

And as so often happens, things that look good together, find each other again, no matter how slim the odds.

“What song do you want to do first up?” said Tim. Tim was a doctor, guitarist and lyricist extraordinaire. Tim and Altair were rehearsing at a friend’s house near the beach.

“An original,” said Altair. “That will give her a better feeling for what we are about.”

  “Agreed.”

  “What’s her name again?”

  “Aria.”

  “Good name for a singer.”

  “I think that’s her now.”

A blue Toyota pulled up outside on the road between the beach and the house. They watched a blonde woman in a green tie-dye dress get out. They had advertised for a new singer so had auditioned a few before today.

“Did you check her stars?” grinned Tim.

  “Not yet,” smiled Altair.

“I would, you’re pretty spot on with that sort of stuff.”

“I used to be, I haven’t touched it in a while.”

The door opened and a woman with sparkling blue eyes strode in. She held out her hand to Altair.

  “Hi, I’m Aria.”

  “Altair, and this is Tim.”

  “Shall I sing first?”

  “Why not?”

And that was it. She set up the music stand she’d brought with her as if she were giving a concert on a stage and began to sing.

She had the voice of a nightingale and couldn’t keep her eyes off Altair. There was no doubting their connection. Altair could feel it from the moment she walked in. When she had finished she was the consummate professional.

  “Will you let me know?”

“Sure,” said Altair. “You have a beautiful voice.”

“Thank you,” she said with an equally beautiful smile. And she left.

Tim was silent for a few moments. He hadn’t spoken at all in the time she was there.

“She had eyes for you man.”

“I noticed,” said Altair. “She has an amazing voice.”

“There are lots of good voices.”

“I felt something. Something old. Something very familiar.”

Something had stirred in Altair.

“She’s knows what she wants man, that’s all I’m saying.”

Altair wasn’t listening. Just like he hadn’t  listened to his good friends Tom and Derek or his Mum when they’d talked to him early on about Priya.

That was his hubris. A stubborn pride when it came to love. Yet uncannily and in spite of everything Aria would accompany him to one of the greatest treasures of all, a Chintamani Stone, from the Goddess of Deep Listening Herself, Avalokiteshvara Guan Yin.

Altair and Aria quickly formed a love duet and a musical partnership. On their first date something extraordinary happened, a sign to make sure he wouldn’t miss their connection.

They were back at Aria’s place after a restaurant outing. Altair happened to walk past her bedroom on the way back from the bathroom and sneaked a look as the door was open. There on the bed were a pair of pants. An unmistakable pattern of black, red, green and white. He couldn’t believe his eyes.

“Aria can I ask you something?” he said when he returned to the lounge.

  “Sure,” she smiled expectantly.

“I noticed a pair of pants in your bedroom, an unusual pattern. Where did you get them from?”

“Oh,” she looked puzzled. “A lady at the Arts Centre. They were a pair actually, but I didn’t want the top. Why?”

“You won’t believe this, but I bought the top the very same day as you bought the bottoms. I must have just missed you buying them. From the lady at the Arts Centre.”

And so it continued, from this unmistakeable sign, to another and another.

But something was missing in his heart. He had tried going through months of counseling with Priya in the hope of winning her back but all she ever said was “I don’t want this relationship.” That was devastating enough on top of the pain that comes along with the actual separation. The children were doing OK but Altair was suffering. He realized just how much when Priya announced one day that she had met Brinn, an airline pilot with the same birthday as her. And that they were taking the children to America and wanted Altair’s permission. Altair agreed with a heavy heart. He had watched his son Orion born in water under the constellation Orion and his daughter Skye born in their living room. He wept a long time with his children on the night they left for Washington. And then he tried to pick up the pieces of his life.

Aria wanted to sing in Europe so Altair decided to accompany her. He had marketing to do for the new company he had set up so they travelled Europe together, singing in King Ludwig’s Ballroom in Neuschwanstein Castle, doing duets for the British National Opera in London and eating pizza with world-renowned violinist Nigel Kennedy and singer Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin in the Cotswolds.

They returned to New Zealand and had to choose whether to continue on and live in Europe or move to the US.

That night Altair had a dream. He was standing on a beach in Los Angeles and three dolphins swam along and one stood on its tail and waved to him.

“We’ve got to go to America,” said Altair and he told Aria his dream.

“Then we will,” she said and they flew out the following morning.

Three days later they were standing on a Palos Verdes beach and three dolphins swam along and one stood on its tail and waved to him.

Altair and Aria stayed with relatives right on the coast. They arrived the day after a massive earthquake in which their uncle’s swimming pool had slipped 1.5 meters into the neighbors’ property. That day Altair drove to Trader Joe’s to pick up some organic veges to cook for dinner and some grains to soak for breakfast. As he was leaving the store he noticed a young girl crying on the sidewalk.

“Is there anything I can do to help?”

“I’m homeless,” she said. She looked up at him through a tear-soaked face and then began to sob again. She must have been no more than fifteen years old thought Altair.

“I’ll tell you what,” he said with a smile. “I’ve just bought these groceries for the family for tonight. There’s enough to feed one person for a week. Why don’t you have them?”

He knelt down in the road in front of her and placed the bags at her feet.

She looked up at him and then rubbed her eyes in bewilderment and then shock.

  “What’s that, what’s…that…at your shoulder…”

She could hardly breathe or get her words out.

Altair felt it first and then saw it. The most serene calm came over him as if he too had gone past his last breath and was floating somewhere indescribable in human terms. He looked just past his left shoulder and saw the most magnificent glow like a million suns concentrated in a ball behind him and a tall beneficent female form reached out past him towards the girl’s heart.

  “It’s an angel!” she cried.

  And indeed it was.

A gift from God sent in this most unlikely of places to bring redemption from pain and freedom from suffering.

Years later Altair would learn Her Name.

  Auriel.

Something had happened and Altair knew it. The One Consciousness we call God or Source was communicating to him through the most unlikely channels, dreams, dolphins, a homeless girl and an angel. The angel was a distinct sign and it galvanized him into action. He and Aria headed north, working for a spiritual publishing house then singing as they went to Festivals and groups from Self Realization Foundation at Lake Shrine and Sri Daya Mata to Ananda Village and Kriyananda. One night when they reached Canada they stayed with Josephine, a yoga teacher on Qualicum Beach in Vancouver Island. None of them could have predicted what came next.

“Altair, how is your search for magic and the stars unfolding?” asked Josephine.

Altair laughed. “Slowly. I’m waiting for the One Consciousness to speak to me when it’s ready.”

 “No more angels?”

“Just the ones I see around me,” said Altair with a smile gesturing at the guests attending Josephine’s dinner party.

“That’s what I wanted to speak to you about. Do you see that couple over there?” She nodded towards the doorway. A couple looked just about ready to leave.

Altair nodded back.

“They heard you read the stars and wondered if you had time to read theirs.”

 “When?”

“Tonight if possible. They’re having marriage troubles. I have a small room out back you can use.”

“Sure. Tell them yes. I can do the reading for them in about an hour. Can you get their details?”

An hour later Altair found himself sitting across from the couple he had just met. Jennifer and Dave were having a great deal of trouble even listening to each other when they came in. Altair settled them down with presence and meditation.

“OK I want you to breathe with me. God is sitting here in both of you. Your breath is God’s breath and your words are God’s sacred words of the One Shared Heart,” Altair began.

He asked them to visualize that breath of God rising and falling in a cycle around the interior planets of the chakras.

He asked them what their God-Self would each want from the relationship.

Then he began to read their soul path, both individually and together.

An hour later and they both came out of the room smiling.

They paid Altair by Koha which for Maori people is a gift of the heart. The Shared Heart.

The next morning a line of more than fifty people were lined up outside Josephine’s door.

Jennifer and Dave had been very generous with their gratitude and spread the word. It spread like wildfire.

All the way through Canada and the US the same lines appeared outside someone’s door as if by magic, guided by the stars. When Altair got tired he would move on to a different city, hoping to remain anonymous, but word would get around, and he would be invited to a different house and there would be a new line of people. He did it all on Koha and received gifts of original paintings, silver tea sets, cash and jewelry, crystals and offers of exchanges like massage, many gifts he could not carry or take up so he gave them away. There were so many miracles that people began to call him Merlin.

A Native American Indian came to visit him. Altair had helped her with her business which had been in a slump and now two weeks after a Reading was flourishing.

  “How can I help you?”

  “It’s my son.”

“How can I help your son?”

  “It’s a very difficult case.”

“Nothing is too difficult for the Lord. We do nothing on our own. Everything is the will of the Lord.”

“He was in an accident. He’s a logger. There was an accident at the mill and he was trapped between two logs. His spine was crushed. He’s in a full cast and won’t get out for six months.”

  “How can I help?”

“Would you put something on a tape for him? There’s no phones there so I need to send it by mail.”

  “Sure.”

  Then she hesitated.

  “There’s one more thing.”

  “Yes?”

“He thinks you can help him with his dream.”

 “What is it?”

“He wants to become an actor in Hollywood.”

“Does he have a family to support?”

  “Yes.”

“Does he have any experience in acting?”

  “No.”

“And he’s in a full cast with a broken back somewhere north of here with no phones.”

  “Right.”

“I see. Give me his details and I’ll see what I can do.”

Altair made the cassette tape and gave it to his mother to send to her son. He didn’t hear anything for two weeks. Then one day the phone rang.

“Altair, Altair,” came an excited voice. “You’ll never guess what happened.”

“I probably won’t. Who is this?”

And the Mom who had tried to get Altair to help her son told him this story.

“Well, he did what you told him. He meditated on the problem and the solution and then handed it all over to God. Then just as you suggested he called ten movie producers in Hollywood including the numbers you gave him.”

Altair had recently returned from Hollywood and passed on some contacts in the movie industry that he knew there to the woman’s son.

“The first nine said no. When my son got to the tenth he was starting to feel dejected. He still went ahead with the call as you suggested. The secretary to the producer was very kind, took his number, as he was calling from a friend’s house, and said she would call back if there were any auditions coming up that he might be interested in. Only a matter of a minute or so later there was a call.

  “Hello is this Allan?”

  “Yes.”

“I happened to be in the office and overheard your call. Would you mind retelling me what you related to my secretary?”

And so my son told his story all over again. The movie producer was so touched he invited Allan down to visit him in Hollywood when his health was better!”

Three years later Allan’s mom contacted Altair again. She told him the follow up to the phone call. The producer gave her son an audition for a small part in an up and coming play. Then he flew the family down and had them stay in his own private apartments while they got settled. Now Allan is happily based in Hollywood as an actor earning a reasonable salary and living his dream.

These were messages from the angel for Altair.

He was being given more and more signs that the conscious universe was communicating to him.

The numbers of people who sought him out for advice became quite overwhelming so he sought his own advice from a medical intuitive named Ruby. She was employed by hospitals in difficult-to-diagnose cases as she could look into a patients body and see where the trauma was.

“Oh,” she said the moment she met him. “You’re a Naga!”

Altair looked her straight in the eyes.

“You see? You know how to manipulate the energies, you’re doing it right now. You can weave the matrix that exists right across the cosmos and tap into its energies. You can see people’s place in it and help awaken them to it.”

It was true. Altair had been visited by a number of psychics and spiritual healers all who wanted to go deeper in their experiences. He only had to look into their eyes and raise his own energy and whatever experience they were desiring would be granted instantaneously. It was all to do with the fire of bliss in the inner spine that God or Spirit activated through him when he connected with people by touch or by gaze.

“But be careful,” she cautioned. “The Naga energy or serpent Fire is very hypnotic and can lead to enormous trouble with the opposite sex. You must be very careful about your boundaries with people or your relationships will be destroyed.”

Altair knew this already. The power of the inner fire often activated powerful sexuality mixed in with love so had to be dealt with very sensitively. Altair had spent time in many communities where the leader, often a male, at some point was involved in sexual misconduct and Altair was left to help counsel the many angry devotees.

“The Naga is an ancient energy. You can wield powers that may seem miraculous to ordinary folk.”

Altair had witnessed many miracles merely by him saying that a person would receive healing or abundance or love if they had faith. He had visited a wonderful man called Albert in Ashland who had been a fighter pilot in the war.

“I was shot down over the ocean,” said Albert, “and when I bailed I landed near a Japanese freighter whose men opened fire on me with machine guns. I sustained shrapnel wounds in my spine and was left for dead in the water for many hours until a rescue crew found me. I’ve had this pain in my back and legs for years and can hardly walk.”

“Lie on the bed,” said Altair, “and we’ll see what we can do.”

Altair worked on Albert’s legs and back for two hours, sometimes praying, sometimes laying hands on, and sometimes using a combination of acupressure and shiatsu touch points. By the time he left Albert was fast asleep.

The next morning he received a phone call from a Californian TV station.

  “Hello, is this Altair?”

  “Yes.”

“We have a gentleman here called Albert who claims you healed him.”

  “Healed? He’s healed?”

“Yes, he says he has had bad pain in his back and legs for years and that you came like an angel and touched him and he was healed.”

Altair was silent. The angel’s hand at work again.

“My name’s Joan,” said the voice. “I’m the producer for the show. Would you mind coming down to the studios? We’d like to interview you.”

Altair told Aria and together they went to the TV studios. Altair told his story and they sang together on air and were promoted across California as the singers who heal the heart.

That pretty much summed up Altair’s mission, an earth angel who heals the heart.

Altair looked at Ruby. Ruby was beautiful and fierce-eyed, and now he saw something different. He was looking straight into the eyes of another Naga. Her cheeks flushed as he met her gaze and his heart quickened as he felt the familiar rush of energies in his spine.

In her place it was the Dalai Lama speaking to him.

“Your brain, your heart is your temple. Look there for what you seek. Let your path be love and kindness.”

Some years ago Altair had sponsored the Dalai Lama’s first trip to New Zealand and had been fortunate enough to meet His Holiness for a private audience. Then, as in all their meetings, whenever he asked about Avalokiteshvara Guan Yin the Goddess of Compassion, the Dalai Lama would say to him,

“Study, and then practice being Avalokiteshvara by being love and kindness and compassion for all people in your heart. Then teach ten people and ask them to teach ten more and ask them to do the same and so on until this entire world is transformed and liberated through your loving kindness. Then you will have successfully transformed yourself and all others into Avalokiteshvara.”

Now the Dalai Lama transformed back into Ruby and then again into Guan Yin.

“Just as two of the Buddha’s disciples are Great Naga and hold naga-jewels or Chintamani Stones, so you who are Naga will find your own naga-jewel in My Heart.”

Then Guan Yin gathered Altair into Her own heart and flew with him to Her celestial palace in the Pure Land on Mount Potalaka, where beings of every kind from many worlds came to seek Her Wisdom and Compassion. Altair could see monks and nuns, making their way through the Goddess Tara’s Rosewood Forest, seeking rebirth on Potalaka and even more who had come to seek the advice of the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara Guan Yin. The passes on the mountain were very dangerous, its sides precipitous and its valleys rugged. On the top of the mountain was a lake, its waters as clear as a mirror. From the grotto flowed a great river which encircled the mountain and flowed down to the southern sea. The celestial palace lay beside the lake. Rare medicinal herbs grew in its gardens and exquisite lotus flowers bloomed in small ponds. Lions, elephants, horses, peacocks and garuda roamed the larger garden areas, all in the peace and bliss of the presence of Guan Yin.

The vision vanished and Altair was sitting still facing Ruby.

“To cross the bridge between worlds takes great love and compassion,” said Ruby. “You never take the trip alone. Because to succeed you need to free humanity of its fear and suffering. That is what we are all here to do, together.”

Altair travelled up and down the west coast of the United States and Canada bringing healing and love and compassion before he returned to New Zealand and then Australia. Of all the wonders he could imagine it is often the simplest things that bring the deepest joy. He was reunited with his childhood friend Suzie in Sydney and he and Aria and Suzie and her partner Michael all settled in the same suburb in Sydney right near the beach. Every morning Altair brushed tiger sharks and man-o-war jellyfish as he swam, not without incident especially one day when he was stung badly by a jellyfish and had to spend three days in bed, unable to walk.

While he was looking for work Suzie introduced him to Joan, a Sai Baba devotee and very wealthy millionaire who had made her money in the property market.

“How would you like to run a health clinic for people here in Sydney,” asked Joan one day out of the blue.

“I have the money to fund it and Sai Baba came to me in a dream and told me that you are the person to run it.”

As simple as that, Altair found himself running a clinic with doctors, massage therapists, Chinese acupuncturists, astrologers and counselors all bringing health and healing to the public.

It was on one of those health and healing days that Sai Baba acted again in Altair’s life, in the most mysterious way.

Altair was walking in the local Mosman shopping area with Aria when a woman walking past stopped them.

“Sai Baba wants you to come and visit him at my sacred shrine. He has a gift for you. He has been waiting for you.”

“Sai Baba is a Messenger from God,” said Altair.

The woman nodded and gave them her card.

“My name is Shanti. I will see you at 5.”

So that afternoon, Altair and Aria went to a house just above Balmoral Beach and knocked on the door.

The same woman who had met them earlier bowed and let them in.

  “Follow me,” she said.

They went with her down into her basement where there were two statues, both sitting in pools of what at first appeared to be water.

The first statue was of Ganesha, the god of good fortune, remover of obstacles, patron of the arts sciences and wisdom.

Out of his trunk poured a golden nectar for which Altair could see no obvious source.

Shanti pointed to the large bowl that was overflowing now with the liquid which dripped onto plastic sheets on the floor.

“Taste it,” she said. “Nectar from Heaven. Amrita. The Ambrosia of Immortality. To taste it is to attain higher knowledge and power.”

Altair did taste it and it was sweet, not like honey or sugar but a different sweetness altogether with the lightness and glow of heaven.

Then he turned to the second statue.

It was a statue of Guan Yin.

He looked at Her and She looked at Him and he finally understood what Manjushri and Sai Baba had said, that he would find the Chintamani Stone in the Heart of Guan Yin.

“Kneel down and pray to Her,” said Shanti. “If She is willing and you touch Her Heart with compassion She will give you a priceless gift.”

Altair knelt and prayed. He knew he had been waiting for this moment for a long time.

“Hold out your hands,” said Shanti.

As Altair held out his hands, cupped, under the Heart of Guan Yin’s statue, the most amazing miracle occurred. From the Heart of Guan Yin the most beautiful pearl began to grow. It emerged little by little like a baby from the womb of Her Heart and to his amazement as the head of the pearl and then the body appeared he saw the beautiful pearl was attached by a thin strand of pearl silk to the statue’s heart like a baby’s umbilical cord to its mother. Gradually the weight of the pearl allowed the silk strand to stretch and lower the pearl and eventually to break off in Altair’s hands.

“You must be a monk,” said Shanti. “When I travelled to see Sai Baba he guided me to a monastery in Sri Lanka where his monks had prayed over this statue for years. They gave me the statue and said to use it to heal the world. They said it had great powers of manifestation and miracles and would recognize a monk by the power of his compassionate heart and give him a Chintamani Stone accordingly.”

Altair’s eyes filled with tears of gratitude.

He bowed deeply to Guan Yin and gave deep and reverent thanks for this miracle.

THE INNOCENCE AND POWER OF THE DIVINE CHILD WITHIN

THE INNOCENCE AND POWER OF THE DIVINE CHILD WITHIN

We are all born into divinity.

We are all Children of the Light.

We come into this life with the face of the divine child, a Christ Light, and we leave it with the face of the divine child.

“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3)

I would love you to share the continuum of your divine child from the face of your child before you were born to the child at birth, to where your child is now, to the child at transition to Her Father.

Here is my story.

I was born into a New Zealand culture that values freedom and a natural life so my initial journeying took me away from Aotearoa (‘Long White Clear Bright World’ in Maori) to the ancient Buddhist paths of Japan and the search for a guru in India.

My own path led me to Yogananda and the Dalai Lama at an early age.

Yogananda’s own beautiful life was a model for me to follow thereafter.

He was a true master who many of us know from his timeless classic ‘Autobiography of a Yogi’.

The Dalai Lama is familiar throughout the western and eastern world as a master of compassion.

It is from the fountain of their wisdom that these words spring.

Before I was born and before Mum met Dad, Mum, while in her early twenties was working in an orchard in Nelson, New Zealand.

There was an old Maori Tohunga (Hawaiian Kahuna), a woman healer, who came up to Mum out of the blue one afternoon while Mum was resting against an apple tree.

She took Mum’s hand, looked at her sternly in the eyes and said

“I want to tell you about your first son.

He will be very unique, mysterious, and experience many spiritual awakenings…”

Mum got a huge fright as she had no intention at that stage of having any children.

She ran off in a great panic at this prophecy but kept this memory precious which she told me many times as a child.

My earliest memories are of a previous incarnation.

I had clear recollections, between the ages of two and three through a dream** that assailed me every night for a year, of being a monk crossing a bridge, from which, as I fell, I heard the timeless chant of OM bounding across space.

That was the face of the child before I was born, a Tibetan Buddhist monk that I was in my previous life, who came back to me at the age of two through those dreams for a year.

I was with the Dalai Lama in that life before I died falling off a bridge into a chasm in 1959, after He escaped, defending the bridge to the Samye monastery* I loved against the Chinese forces.

Because I incarnated very quickly, just 2 years later in fact, in 1961, many of my past life memories remained intact.

That has been with me a long time, that knowing.

At such a young age I woke nightly screaming and my parents, scared of epilepsy, took me to specialists to see if they could diagnose what was wrong.

The continuum of dreams finished at age 3 when a specialist suggested I was too hot and so Mum took all the blankets off and let me sleep naked.

The dreams stopped the night she did that.

The dreams were igniting the fire of inner bliss within without any real control or awareness at such a young age.

That fire set me up for a series of amazing experiences or Siddhis when I was very young.

I was guided from birth and right through those tender years by a Mother Superior, Kathleen Adams, who headed a Carmelite Order monastery in Australia.

She gave me a deep love of the Virgin Mary and told me I would be protected by Her all my life and “clothed in Her colors of blue and white”.

This has been true through my life in so many experiences I have had such as the Blue Light of Truth, the Blue Pearl, the Pure White Light of Being and the White Fire of the Holy Spirit.

She knitted me a tiny baby’s jersey in pure blue and white which I kept for many years after I outgrew it.

She also wrote me a Letter of Protection which I kept and recited for many years.

I still remember at just four years of age wanting to dedicate myself to Mary and Jesus.

I wanted to be Her Priest and His Son and say mass for my brothers and sisters and offer up the Eucharist.

I set up a small altar and prayer cushion at home in the lounge and prayed and said Mass every week with may brothers and sisters.

I remember the first prayers Mum taught me when I was little, just a few years of age.

“Matthew, Mark, Luke and John

Bless this bed that I lie on

Before I lie me down to to sleep

I give my soul to Christ to keep

Four corners to my bed

Four angels round my head

One to watch and one to pray

And two to bear my soul away”

When I was in my twenties I used this simple system of Archangelic protection to help burnt out healers to protect and heal themselves.

That deep faith, protection and connection to Jesus and Mary helped me drive out demons from friends who were possessed when I was 15.

When I was five years old I wrote to NASA asking if I could be on the first one way trip to Alpha Centauri, the nearest star system, as I wished to live and explore there.

They took my five year old star-being yearnings quite seriously and wrote back offering me the chance to join the space program when I turned 18.

I have met NASA scientists and astronauts many times over my life and shared my experiences with extraterrestrial beings and found they share the same thoughts and feelings about our star origins.

When I went to school the teachers called me Apollo because they said I had a smile like the sun.

My parents said the same, that I was such a contented baby and never stopped smiling and beaming at everyone.

For the first 25 years of my life people would ask me day after day and week after week if I ever felt down or negative because I seemed to exude perpetual happiness.

I understood from within that the smile was like the radiant light.

That happiness did not come to me.

It came from within me.

Divine Mother of the Clear Light Exercise

PRACTICE

We are going to practice something together, if you are guided to accept this into your heart.

I have spoken of a similar practice in Activating the Clear Light of Being.

https://paulinebattell.wordpress.com/2016/07/28/activating-the-clear-light-of-being-altair-shyam/

It is called the practice of

The Divine Mother of the Clear Light.

How to share the Light.

How to become the Light.

Make that your intention Now as you read this.

“Breathing in, I AM the Light, Breathing out, I AM the Light.”

The whole key to final enlightenment is to be able to stabilize your practice so that at any point, even at the point of death, your awareness is bright, full of light and clear.

This shows the importance of activations or initiations.

You can take activations and initiations from a master, from your Self or from a Light Being like a Buddha or Christ or a member of your Light family.

Here is a practice to try to stabilize Knowing the Light in your day to day moments or meditations.

Try it right now.

Use your mantra to centre you if you need.

Use OM or Amen if you don’t have a personal mantra.

Look around you at the room.

Now look out your window.

What do you see?

Go out the door and look outside too.

Write down what you see…

Now Do it again but first Centre yourself in Silence and Stillness and chant your mantra internally for a few minutes until you feel it arise naturally in your heart.

This is Union with Presence

Then slowly open your eyes and still chanting internally repeat the same exercise walking so gently that you keep the Presence and write down what you see.

It is very Beautiful, is it not?

Filled with Love.

Your Presence, Your Light.

It is Your Presence.

It is Your Light that you are experiencing.

Very beautiful.

You are giving yourself Space.

The Wisdom of Space.

This is Union with Wisdom.

Now sit for a while.

Now that you have established Presence and Wisdom sit still and silent for a few minutes more.

This time sit as Divine Mother.

You are Her.

Divine Mother.

In whatever form She is to you, or formless, clear Light.

You could be Mary Magdalene or Guan Yin for example.

See the room again.

Write down what you see through Her Eyes.

Sit.

Be still.

Be silent.

Let God the Mother fill you.

Fill your womb, your belly, then fill your heart.

This is Union with The Divine Mother of the Clear Light.

As you go about the day doing your daily things do them as God the Mother while you chant.

Do this as often as you can.

Beautiful.

You are so beautiful.

Love.

You are filled with Love.

There is your Divine Child right there, in the Heart of Divine Mother.

This is the Child I AM Now and the Child I will transition when I AM in the Father.

“I came from the Father and entered the World.

In turn, when I leave the World I will go to the Father.” (John 16:28)

This is a very deep and profound shift into Presence, Wisdom through the Divine Mother Within.

You know how to do it now.

You need to practice so you can do it at will.

When you can do it at will, shining light for every living being, this is Union with Light.

Be the Light.

Shine the Light for All of Us.

Love and Blessings

Altair and Mother

NOTE 1

  • Samye Monastery

According to tradition, the Indian monk Śāntarakṣita made the first attempt to construct the Samye monastery while promoting his sutra-centric version of Buddhism.

Finding the Samye site auspicious, he set about to build a structure there. However, the building would always collapse after reaching a certain stage. Terrified, the construction workers believed that there was a demon or obstructive tulku in a nearby river making trouble.

When Śāntarakṣita‘s contemporary Padmasambhava arrived from northern India, he was able to subdue the energetic problems obstructing the building of Samye through Tantra and Alchemy.

According to the 5th Dalai Lama, Padmasambhava performed the Vajrakilaya dance and enacted the rite of namkha to assist Trisong Detsen and Śāntarakṣita clear away obscurations and hindrances in the building of Samye:

“The great religious master Padmasambhava performed this dance in order to prepare the ground for the Samye Monastery and to pacify the malice of the lha [local mountain god spirits] and srin [malevolent spirits] in order to create the most perfect conditions.”

He went on to say that after Padmasambhava consecrated the ground he erected a thread-cross — a web colored thread woven around two sticks — to catch evil.

Then the purifying energy of his dance forced the malevolent spirits into a skull mounted on top of a pyramid of dough.

His tantric dance cleared away all the obstacles, enabling the monastery to be built in 767.

The dance was memorialized by the construction of Vajrakilaya stupas — monuments honoring the ritual kilya (purba) daggers — at the cardinal points of the monastery, where they would prevent demonic forces from entering the sacred grounds.

The building of Samye marked the foundation of the original school of Tibetan Buddhism, the Nyingma, the school I was initiated into by Sogyal Rinpoche. Padmasambhava’s Alchemic Tantra-centric version of Buddhism gained ascendence over the sutra-based teaching of Śāntarakṣita.

It is now universal, a true Sign of Union with Presence as to this day the Dalai Lama gives the Highest Yoga Tantra teachings, which we know as the Kalachakra Tantra, to all who wish to receive them, even offering their blessings over the internet.

NOTE 2

** Dream Yoga

My dreams of water over the time I was writing this message to you, this week.

I am actively practicing dream yoga at the moment according to the instructions of the 2nd Dalai Lama and Lady Niguma the famed mystic Yogini, especially these past three days, as well as doing the Avalokiteshvara empowerment and initiation online with the Dalai Lama again.

It is very powerful doing it multiple times in real time as He is in Bodhgaya now doing the activation.

The first day I had the most beautiful dreams.

Three in a row were of oceans.

In one of them there were 5 of us, all Light dolphins, jumping through portals from Lemuria to Now in a vertical formation.

The second day, I had three more dreams of water and oceans including one where I was walking across water.

One of the other dreams was returning a beautiful rainbow fish to its home. The third one was traveling across a land filled with rivers and ponds with my daughter Maia where we had to choose between two energy biscuits, a ruby pink one and an emerald green one.

When we ate them (I chose pink and she chose green) we were able to move at super-speed across the terrain.

The third day was of water.

I stood on the banks of the River Anduin with the Wizard Gandalf.

We had been practicing Alchemy together.

He said to me

“All is well in the world of Elves and Wizards and Men.

And the power is restored to Ithilien and Lothlorien” as the Anduin surged beside us.

The basic practice of dream yoga if you want to try is fourfold.

It is pretty simple but requires dedication for quite a number of nights to reach perfection.

The first is to be able to recognize the dream as a dream.

To do this set a firm resolution before going to sleep to recognize any dream that arises as you are dreaming it.

The second is that you often wake up from a dream.

The key here is not to open your eyes even if you wake up and instead to think over and recapture the dream and go back into it as it is occurring as you start to fall asleep again.

You will notice you are doing that, as a dream-like quality arises.

You can even choose dreams.

The third is you get disturbed in the dream by confusing energy factors such as lust or fear caused by the mystic drop at your heart moving to the lower chakras.

The key here is to consciously bring the mystic drop back up to the throat chakra and then let go or surrender to the dream state.

The fourth is that you may not experience any dreams.

To help this set a firm determination to dream many dreams and to recognize them when they occur.

One night I woke with a blank mind and really thought I hadn’t dreamed anything.

I resolved to wait and listen and watch after dissolving into emptiness and as I was falling asleep the three dreams I had previously that I didn’t remember re-arose one by one so I was able to get up and write them down.

It was quite stunning to watch them manifest when usually I would be in the middle of dreaming them.

I also had two deja vu dreams where I was in the middle of the dream, dreaming, when I realized I had been there before and recognized the place and so felt that deja vu feeling within the dream.

So our sleeping and dreaming moments can be just as valuable to us as our waking moments.

Such is the teachings of the Great Lineage of Masters, the 2nd Dalai Lama and Yogini Lady Master Niguma.
