ALCHEMY OF THE LIGHT BODY MEDITATION

ALCHEMY OF THE LIGHT BODY MEDITATION

Altair Shyam will do a live meditation “Alchemy of the Light Body” at 13:00 GMT, Sunday 9 December, or 1:00 PM London (5:00 AM in Los Angeles and 8:00 AM in New York, 22:00 PM in Tokyo and midnight in Sydney) on Facebook Live Stream.

https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100015236058875

To begin, Altair will share the process of alchemy of the light body or transformation of light body through the five gates of awareness; gathering awareness, preparing awareness, seeing awareness, meditation on awareness, and awareness of Awareness.

What does it mean to go beyond all we know?

To touch the Divine, to go beyond our senses into the fire of the eternal bliss?

Together we will enter Five Gates of pristine wisdom.

Breathe, be still, heal, awaken and Awareness, blessing us all, again and again.

Be the Christ, Krishna, Buddha, the Divine Mother Within.

We carry this flame of enlightenment within us.

Let it shine.

Let the Light in.

ག༌ཏེ༌ག༌ཏེ༌པཱ༌ར༌ག༌ཏེ༌པཱ༌ར༌སཾ༌ག༌ཏེ༌བོ༌དྷི༌སྭཱ༌ཧཱ།

Gate gate pāragate pārasaṃgate bodhi swāhā

These words of Avalokiteshavara Guan Yin from the Blessed Mother’s Heart of Wisdom Sutra are guidance through the gates of five paths to direct realisation of the Divine I AM Presence.

The Dalai Lama describes them as the first gate to the path of accumulation, the second to the path of preparation, the third to the path of seeing, the fourth to the path of meditation and the fifth to the path of no more learning.

Altair will share some of his stories, as well as the importance of faith and confidence in your practice and your own path with heart, and tips to help you in those days when events seem to make practice and your path more of a struggle than others.

Altair will also explore some of the subtle stages of consciousness in the meditation.

This meditation will explore portals of awakening through creating the awareness of Awareness consciousness within, through the power of the angelic, bodhisattva and master experience in each one of us, simply by being, and bringing deep presence and wisdom to our daily experience, moment by moment.

Just as we have an outer life now that we strongly connect to, and that we draw our outer purpose from, so we have an inner purpose, to awaken divine consciousness, and this is awakening within as we speak right now.

and together we will explore how to awaken the light within us, and how to awaken the alchemy of the light body and the subtle levels of consciousness which lie within us all.

Like Yeshua and Mary Magdalene, Buddha and Avalokiteshvara Guan Yin Krishna and Babaji, and the Archangels and Bodhisattvas we are all Lights for this World.

We will then reveal through the unity of the Shared Heart the miracles we can unfold through the state of being that is the awakened divine consciousness of the Alchemy of the Light Body, ever-present in the light.

DALAI LAMA 3 DAY RETREAT

DALAI LAMA DAY 1

Dear Enlightened Ones

It is always such a blessing to be with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, this time I was in Yokohama Japan for a 3 day retreat.

The Dalai Lama began the day with a talk about us all being One Family of Love and Compassion.

Here is the core of His teachings for today for you.

We are all One Family of Love and Compassion no matter what religion or history or scientific background.

Happiness comes from peace of mind and we cultivate happiness through love and compassion and practicing patience and kindness.

Obstacles like anger, delusion and attachment act as a veil to the mind. When we purify these we become free and see reality as it is.

The Heart Sutra of Avalokiteshvara Guan Yin is like an Ancient Mother.

She teaches us the wisdom of emptiness which means seeing that things have no external existence (at this point in my meditation and contemplation on this a bright violet blue orb appeared) and also teaches the essence and importance of Bodhicitta which means to have an altruistic intention to cherish others and then to liberate others.

In dreams we can see an elephant and when we wake up know it is not real so in life we can see a partner or friend as frustrating and be angry at them but then the next day be fine and calm around them showing us that those impressions we have of people through the impurified mind or consciousness are unreliable. When you are aware of that in the present, in that moment, you are awake. Awareness is luminous. Past and future have no existence.

Liberation of your self comes down to cherishing others. When you have compassion you see suffering in others and develop empathy because you can see how ignorant others are of how things are. So there is a strong desire to help. To take on the suffering of others.

Maitreya taught the Buddha Nature is All One so there is no division between teachings on love and compassion.

Afflictive emotions like anger can be used to see into the nature of emptiness and luminosity. When you are angry you believe your reasons for being angry are real. If you see directly into the nature of things and see that these feelings change so realize the nature of change and see that these feelings dissipate so are empty of any real existence so realize the nature of emptiness then you can use these to liberate.

Quantum physics points to things having no objective existence.

Ask yourself who is this body this voice this mind? Who am I?

We appear to each other as if we are real but where are you? Are you the body? Are you the voice? Are you the mind?

The nature of these forms is emptiness. They all change and eventually transform and dissolve.

Things exist by Name. The Dalai Lama had a “lightning bolt” of realization about the “I” the Name we give to ourself and the identity feelings thoughts we attach to it.

By cultivating the path of perfection of wisdom we make the intention to help all beings and bring love and compassion wherever we go. We see the truth of emptiness, that there is no “I” and seek to liberate ourselves by cherishing others. By letting go of self-cherishing and “I” we open to a deeper luminous awareness of All That Is.

Stages of Meditation

Past and future lives can be discovered. They are based on dependent origination. The roots of compassion in us all are a special resolve to bring all sentient beings to enlightenment.

There are different types of suffering to be free from.
Suffering of suffering. Suffering of change. Suffering of conditions or conditioning.

Then afflictive emotions.

And karma.

Cherishing others with an altruistic attitude and emptiness is helped by meditation. Meditation on equanimity, on love and kindness, on compassion and on wisdom.

Meditation practice on emptiness involves perfecting singe pointed concentration to begin with.

Training in mindfulness and introspection develops concentration.

1. To begin choose a quiet serene place.

2. Physical posture – Vajra cross legged or lotus or chair.
Hands held together in Mudra. Left hand under right and two thumbs touching against the navel.
Straighten spine.
Tip of tongue to upper palate. Eyes on top of nose or straight ahead or slightly uplifted.
Eyes Half open.
Shoulders relaxed.
This is important for later Tantric practices where you use the breath to breathe light and energy in the spine and the flow of energy in the right and left channel needs to be balanced.

3. Use an object of focus to begin with. A flame or flower or piece of wood. This uses the 6th mind, not visual consciousness for example. Focus on the image of the flower in your mind. Stay singled pointed for a long time until you can hold the object in mind with calm abiding.
The Dalai Lama joked that he had met Hindu Sadhus in the Himalayas with better focus than Buddhist monks!

4. Special insight. You begin to see things as they are in extraordinary ways. You see into the formless realms and Higher Realms that all saints and mystics and Buddhas and Christs and Mohammeds and Krishnas and Avalokiteshvara Guan Yins have spoken of. The Dalai Lama said from his conversations with all Masters they all agree on these basic points and He is on the lookout to meet many more beings who have developed single pointed focus and insight into the nature of things!

The Notion of an Independent self is the root of all delusion.

There is no self.

There is no “I”

Nothing can be found.

The innate clear light mind is not the self.

Within consciousness there are degrees of subtlety. Past and future lives are explained on the basis of self.

As the self becomes more transparent to the light the memory of these past and future lives is realized. Some children have clear memories of their past lives. There is a child in New York who has a past life memory of dying in the tragedy of 9/11.

There are meditators the Dalai Lama has met who can keep a single focus in their mind for 3-4 hours and can stay in the subtle clear light of death at the point they transitioned through long and continuous practice.

To develop calm abiding you have to calm the mind and place it again and again in that state through practice.

The main obstacles are mental laxity and mental excitation.

Alertness must be there.

If your mind is dull or lax or cloudy like daydreaming and you have lost alertness then you need to practice uplifting the mind like visualizing the Buddha or Christ in illuminated bodies. Tantric Yoga is particularly useful wheee you meditate visualizing yourself as a deity and doing it within emptiness. Some yogis can project their bodies out into other bodies.

If your mind is too excited then meditate on emptiness.

Then contemplate what arises.

And develop special insight or Vipassana.

DALAI LAMA DAY 2

Avalokiteshvara Guan Yin Initiation

This was a completely different day to day 1.

To begin with I met up with such a diverse group of people, Mongolian and Tibetan monks and devotees who had traveled all the way to Japan to receive this initiation. Many did not speak English or Japanese so we spoke with my smattering of Tibetan and lots of gestures and acting out scenarios.

It was a day of energies and as the Dalai put it, channels, winds and bliss drops.

The actual ritual is secret so I cannot share the techniques although you can find many similar techniques documented in my favorite book by the Dalai Lama, Kalachakra Tantra: Rite of Initiation.

https://www.amazon.com/Kalachakra-Tantra-Holiness-Dalai-Lama/dp/0861711513

The Avalokiteshvara Initiation is a Secret Mantrayana Ritual. Fundamentally you visualize yourself as the deity Avalokiteshvara Guan Yin although the experience is far more profound than my words can say. Perhaps because of my karmic predisposition, although I have a very fresh beginners mind, I was able to devour the energies like a starving man and as such went through some quite startling, even shocking transformations, as if a lightning bolt had struck me. Those blessings in particular I dedicate to all beings.

THE VOWS

The initiation begins with taking vows. These include layperson vows, monk and nun vows and Bodhisattva vows. To summarize these the Dalai Lama says, is to be kind to everyone. To not wish anyone harm in thought word or action.

I will share the one I use daily here with you, should you wish to use it. It is derived from the one I took when I did the Kalachakra Tantra.

“From my Heart I go for refuge to the three jewels, Buddha, Dharma, Sangha, Christ Krishna, Divine Mother. I will free all beings from pain and set all in final bliss. To do that I will generate an altruistic intention to attain perfect enlightenment, and thereupon will train in the learnings of Bodhisattvas, Archangels and Elders/Masters.”

Whatever Vow you take, a formal one or one that you create yourself, the Dalai Lama recommends saying this with a deep pure intention at least 6 times a day. I say it in the following way. As you open your eyes upon rising, in your morning meditation, in your midday meditation, at some point in your afternoon, in your evening meditation, and as you close your eyes to go to sleep.

THE  INITIATION

The Avalokiteshvara Initiation is comprised of Secret Mantra and Secret Kriya. It comes from Tibet and the tradition of the 17 Nalanda Masters. It involves activating energies in the channels, winds and bliss drops in the physical body and light body. The Buddha tailored these techniques for specific disciples and arose in different bodies, sometimes a celibate monk and sometimes a deity to teach these.

THE VISIONS

It comes from the Hidden Terma (treasure) or Profound Vision tradition.

The initiation we took came from the 5th Dalai Lama. The 5th had many visions of deities and shared 25 cycles of visionary teachings. These are called the Father Teachings.

Each of the Dalai Lamas was famous for particular visions. The 1st had visions of white and green Tara. The 2nd had visions from childhood and composed music and chants about them. The current Dalai Lama has dreams not visions. He joked about this by saying he was the only Dalai Lama who has not had visions of deities but he takes consolation from the fact that he is the most famous Dalai Lama.

MY VISIONS

Though I cannot share the specific techniques of the initiation (the Dalai Lama asked us not to share them) I can share the visions I received as they are very personal and do not in any way reveal the secret process.

I hope that you may relate to some of them.

As many of you know, I have had a deep connection to the Fifth Dalai Lama over a long period of time. I had five visions over the course of this initiation.

The First

A dark-haired woman with tanned skin appeared suddenly with eyes blazing with light. It was quite shocking. This was a form of Palden Lhamo. She is the Protector of Tibet.

The Second

I was transported bodily to a world I did not recognize, somewhat similar to the windswept snowy slopes of the Tibetan highlands with all my senses fully on and engaged yet I feel it was not there.

The Third

I was witness to what I would describe as twin Vajras spinning horizontally with tremendous force.

The Fourth

I was aware of an enormous pillar of light we all are connected to that ran the length of my spine above and below and connected space and spacelessness. It was immovable and yet highly volatile like being connected to a God-cable through heaven and earth. My body shook as if unable to contain the voltage. This was a somewhat shocking part of the initiation and I felt as if I might pass out.

The Fifth

There was a point at which this body dissolved, and the physical body was “replaced” by another in full light body “form”. I recognized it as our ultimate truth and the energy and consciousness was overwhelming and entirely magnificent. It left me in tears.

THE STORIES

Today the Dalai Lama told many stories.

He shared about famous Thangka (sacred art) of Avalokiteshvara and the effect it had on devotees leading them into trance and ecstacy.

He told the story of Je Tsongkhapa’s vision of Manjushri sitting in a circle of Blue Light.

He spoke about how the 5th Dalai Lama’s visions emerged from the Heart of Avalokiteshvara.

He told us about a statue in Potala that when he prayed in front of it its expression changed. He had seen the face change from serious to smiling.

He also had a dream of Avalokiteshvara where he got to ask about the depth of realization of emptiness and have many of his own personal questions about enlightenment answered.

He sees Avalokiteshvara on his own shoulder. He said “I act as Messenger for Avalokiteshvara”. And he said he was born to do this.

He told stories about Nagarjuna and his feats of moving beneath the ground and flying.

But he said the real miracle is in the transformation of the mind through the Master’s writing.

He spoke about how magnificent the true teachings and writings of all traditions are and that all religions are beneficial.

He spoke about the types of visions and that the profound visions were when deities appear to Masters when the Master’s eyes are open.

He said there is a Divine plan in place.

He said the divine plan was about spreading a spirituality that was sovereign and unified, and that all religions were part of that.

The Dalai Lama ended the initiation with the aphorism, “NO BEGINNING, NO END” in true tantra and alchemy tradition.

DALAI LAMA DAY 3

The third day of the retreat with the Dalai Lama started with a debate between His Holiness and three well-known scientists, a psychologist, a neuroscientist and a quantum physicist.

From the outset the Dalai Lama made it very clear he was here to discuss and investigate the mind and consciousness, because, he explained, science seems to have very few answers about what consciousness is and how it operates. He said he was like an alchemist, who checks to see it the gold is pure and that anything we believe we should investigate it thoroughly until it becomes clear and only then accept it.

I really took this to heart as you will see later when I got the opportunity to speak to the Dalai Lama directly as I have on each occasion I have met him. I feel so blessed as just like with Jesus/Yeshua, Yogananda and Babaji, and Guan Yin, I feel I have had ‘personal tuition’ on the path with heart!

A BRIEF SUMMARY OF MY OWN CONNECTIONS TO THE DALAI LAMA

In case you haven’t followed my particular process with the Dalai Lama, I dreamed when I was 2 years old that I was one of his monks at Samye Monastery. I had the same dream every night for a year, a dream in which I fell into an abyss, heard the sacred OM sound and saw the clear light.

Then in my twenties when I was running a company I sponsored his first trip to New Zealand in which I was granted a personal audience with him and when I met him his simple advice to me was to follow the path of love and compassion.

Some years later when I met the Dalai Lama again he guided me to follow the path of Avalokiteshvara Guan Yin with the love and affection of a mother for her child. Then, while doing the Kalachakra Tantra (a Ritual I followed for over a year devotedly) he appeared to me in a profound vision (he appeared to me with my eyes open after I had breakfast one morning) and guided me into the techniques of subtler consciousness of the Kalachakra.

When I came to do the actual initiation, which I did with deep devotion over a 12 day period, online, as the Dalai Lama specifically stated that Tibetans who lived abroad would be able to receive the initiation if they applied themselves with deep faith and devotion (and I considered myself a Tibetan because of my past life experience over a year as a 2 year old until when I was 3) I experienced two profound moments.

One was while I was in a train meditating on the fire part of the ritual. Suddenly my hand caught on fire and my thumb burst into a flame and I was left with a burnt thumb which I had to nurse when I got back home.

The second was when doing the rebirth part of the initiation at home I spontaneously changed the ritual to include the Archangel Metatron and Guan Yin in Union and my mind burst into light and in the most shocking event of my life there was no meditator and no meditation for three days, an event my wife witnessed.

That was my experience of the clear light. I realized we were made of light and the divine light was our birthright and as the Dalai Lama said, I was able to test it and verify its authenticity. As Jesus said, if your eye is single then your entire body is filled with light.

A WORLD IN CRISIS

The Dalai Lama said our world is in an emotional crisis. He said we are repeating our mistakes and that violence is out-dated. It is not the right method. The key is inner peace. If we want to de-militarize the world then we need to inner de-militarize ourselves. Constant anger and fear weakens our immune system.

The Dalai Lama does not spread Buddhism in the West anymore because the West has a Judeo-Christian tradition. He spoke to a Christian monk who was a well-known speaker who asked him how to develop emptiness. “Don’t ask,” joked the Dalai Lama. “It is none of your business.” He told the monk that if he put doubt into people’s minds he would feel uncomfortable. Whereas he feels comfortable teaching in Japan as it is a Buddhist country.

SCIENCE AND WISDOM

The Dalai Lama kept repeating this, that he felt very happy, there was no hesitation, the he truly appreciated the opportunity and I could really feel it. Something was different. Something had changed.

He praised Indian psychology, the Vedas and the yoga systems saying how highly developed they were and that the Buddha himself used them. He said they were like the university and modern psychology was like being in kindergarten. He repeated often that with all our modern psychology, education and technology we are failing our children and our people.

He gave a number of examples of where science is unable to explain phenomena. At death, The Dalai Lama’s senior tutor and Yogananda’s body stayed fresh for many days after passing showing how deeply a meditators kind affects the brain and body.

He spoke about Dreamtime and how sensorial consciousness is not active but other consciousness is.

NO BEGINNING, NO END

He talked a lot about no beginning no end.
About how when the brain stops there is subtle consciousness (this helped me explain why I could experience the clear light because of what happened to me as a two-year old when I repeatedly died).

He gave another example of a Tibetan monk in New Zealand whose body remained very fresh after death. On the 4th night three fingers of his left hand moved to hold his right hand showing these subtle levels of consciousness and the 4 levels of emptiness. That around the 2nd level of emptiness at death the body consciousness dissolved into emptiness but the bright kind or subtle consciousness continues.

He asked the scientists to explain when is consciousness formed and at what point?

He also asked the scientists to explain the cause of the Big Bang.

On both points they were forced to admit they didn’t know.

TALKING WITH THE DALAI LAMA

A small group of us were allowed to be part of the final discussion and again I was blessed to be chosen. I was the first to speak to His Holiness and the scientists and I asked the following question.

“Your Holiness, from the age of two to three I had a recurring dream as a Tibetan monk, every night, in which I died and experienced the cosmic sound of OM and the clear light. From my own observations of space time it would seem that space and time emerged from nothing at the moment of the Big Bang, from an emptiness as it were. In our universe the constant is light and light is the only exception from the fact that it can propagate in a vacuum or emptiness. Einstein intuited the theory of relativity from observing light. Christ and the Buddha tell us be the Light of the world and be a Light unto ourselves. What can be learned about the origins of consciousness by observing clear light in meditation and studying its connection to physical light like an Einstein-Buddha?”

The Dalai Lama answered me by first addressing my dream experience. He said that I should follow the practices of dream yoga (as outlined in the six yogas of Naropa) and practice realizing the clear light within the dream. He explained that the subtle consciousness is awake generally only through dreaming and deep meditation and so dreaming affords a remarkable opportunity to know the self by realizing you are dreaming within the dream. Then you are able to practice witnessing consciousness at play within the dream and awaken within the dream with clarity at the same time. (In beautiful synchronicity this is actually one of the practices I outlined in the first chapter of Portals of Presence at the end of my book Diary of a Yogi: A Book of Awakening.)

He then went on to talk about the clear Light. He said the Experience of the Light the Masters speak about is a direct experience of the Source. No beginning no end. The Dalai Lama joked and said he had tried to realize clear light consciousness but failed. That it was a very difficult subtle experience of consciousness and not his experience so far.

YOU ARE YOUR OWN MASTER

His Final Speech was as follows.

You are your own Master.

Be a Light for the World

Take this amazing opportunity of a human life and use it well.

Become like Nagarjuna who was both a scientist and a meditator.

If you are suffering look for the “I” that is complaining. Where is it?

He told a story of a woman who was suffering. He told her “If you think the “I” is in the heart, what shape is it? Imagine the Dalai Lama there in your heart with you. He will help take the burden of your suffering.”

Be like a mother with the affection for her child.

Educate the world with love and kindness and compassion.

If you are involved in any spiritual education and technology, we need more education on human values to unite our world.

Finally he said “Meditate for 30 min to an hour every day for inner peace. That is the bare minimum”

WE ARE THE LIGHT – AWAKENING TO THE ANGEL, THE BODHISATTVA, THE MASTER WITHIN

WE ARE THE LIGHT – AWAKENING TO THE ANGEL, THE BODHISATTVA, THE MASTER WITHIN

Altair Shyam will do a live meditation “We are the Light” at 13:00 GMT, Sunday 23 September, or 2:00 PM London (6:00 AM in Los Angeles and 9:00 AM in New York, 22:00 PM in Tokyo and 23:00 PM in Sydney) on Facebook Live Stream.

https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100015236058875

This meditation will explore portals of awakening through being the Light, and the power of the angelic, bodhisattva and master experience within, by being, and bringing deep presence and wisdom to our daily experience, moment by moment. Just as we have an outer life now that we strongly connect to, and that we draw our outer purpose from, so we have an inner purpose, to awaken divine consciousness, and this is awakening within as we speak right now.

That is the master within that we will experience.

Matthew 5:14-16

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

In our spiritual evolution, as many of us are experiencing, the Great Ones tell us “We are the Light.”  Your inner purpose is to awaken this divine consciousness, your outer purpose is to follow the signs gifted to you by this universal consciousness with presence and awareness and assist others to liberate and be free.

When the Buddha lay dying his disciples pleaded, “Blessed One, who will be our teacher now? Who will guide us? How will we achieve enlightenment without your help?”

The Buddha’s last words were, “Be your own light.”

You may be forgiven for thinking the Christ and the Buddha were singing from the same hymnbook, one saying to let your light shine and the other to be your own light.

The truth is the light. Seek the truth, follow the way of the inner master and the light shall set you free. You will be your own light, you will be enlightened.

Everyone has their own light. Inside each of us is the light of the master, the angel and the bodhisattva, the being, the human being, that knows who we truly are, where we come from, and where we are going. In this light, there is clarity and insight, and when we are silent and still, in meditation on this timelessness within us, the truth of who we have always been sets us free.

Every day we flower, unfolding to receive the Light. The light, the illumination, is an awakening to the awareness that everything is connected. We feel it as resonance, as awareness of the life energy flowing through us, as a knowing that we are part of everything and everything is part of us. The meditation and the meditator vanishes, and only the Universe as it is, remains.

It can come in so many ways, through dreams and visions, meditation, and relationships, in any everyday moment, or in near-death experiences. The light is always there.

The Christ and the Buddha realized that everything is connected.

So did Einstein.

“A human being is a part of the whole called by us `the Universe.’ Our task must be to free ourselves… by widening the circle of understanding and compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.”

Experiences drawn from Altair’s new book ‘Diary of a Yogi – A Book of Awakening’ due to be published on 19 October of this year, will explore techniques of connecting to the light within in 7 steps. We will then reveal through the unity of the Shared Heart the miracles we can unfold through the state of being that is the awakened divine consciousness, present in the light.

To bring the Consciousness of the Awakened Divine Life into our lives is to bring Presence into our hearts, Self Realization into our every moment, with the awareness that we are channels for the universal consciousness and nothing we do is by our hand alone.

The Awakened Consciousness, the Consciousness of pure awareness of the light within is to be present in God or Source Consciousness, or the True Self, to know the Divine Experience Within, to be present and awake.

If you are reading this then you are likely to feel a deep connection to the consciousness of the light, presence and awakening, to relate to the feeling that this physical life is becoming more and more transparent as the light arises within you, and that you are drawing power and wisdom from the light, and know that we are in a cycle of communicating with unity consciousness and the light at every moment. We are all human beings and divine beings, ever present in the realization of this divine wisdom and presence and so speak to one another of the I AM essence and the power of now, the stillness beyond time and form.

Timeless presence.

Be the Light.

We are the Light.

I AM THAT I AM.

AWAKENING ABUNDANCE

AWAKENING ABUNDANCE

What we think our purpose is, is directly connected to how we see ourself in connection with others.

“I’m not making enough money, getting enough clients in my healing practice, enough people on my website.”

When we focus on this we don’t touch the true soul of the abundance, the deeper “Self” that is the true generator of all abundance.

And that abundance comes down to a misperception of who we are as the creator of abundance and this, in turn, creates dysfunction in your relationships to others and the money which is a natural flow from them and the universe.

Because when we are not present with our needs and the needs of others we are also not connected to the universe.
We believe in some way people are withholding from us and our purpose which is an illusion.

If our thought is lack then we will experience lack.

When we acknowledge the incredible good we are doing then we create a foundation for abundance.

I worked some years ago with a community in Canada. They were struggling with abundance and many of the businesses were slow, stagnant or dying. They were in an isolated area and felt due to growth in the cities they were being bypassed.
I explained to them that if they had a mindset where they thought people were missing them out then they were missing out on connecting to people.

Deep down their thinking was small and informed by a misperception that their community had nothing to give.

So I asked them to do the exact opposite.

For two weeks, whatever they felt a lack of, I asked them to give that to people they met. If they lacked time, then they would take the time to be with people. Without asking for anything in return.

I asked them to act as if they had plenty to give and it would come to them in return.
I worked with each of them individually and helped them to shift their mind and heart into the awakened mind, where presence, stillness and being became a regular part of their everyday business practice.

The universe as it is has a constant flow.
In and out.
Give and it will be given to you.

The source of abundance, which is the soul of the universe, is not outside us, it is within us.
When we see lack, we also fail to see the abundance all around us.

I asked the community to see fullness in everything around them.
The child’s laughter, the flowers in the field, the abundance in two business people who had never spoken finding a way of helping each other. That abundance becomes like rain from the sky. It rains gifts of more abundance.

Abundance in this group had been dormant and when they awoke to the fullness of what was around them they also awoke the sleeping abundance at the heart of the soul of their business and their life purpose.

Then they began to ask who they could be of service to, themselves, and then each other, then their own community and then their larger community. They became aware of needs, on a deeper level, which is the flowering of compassion. That flowering created a magnetism, that attracted people and the entire community flourished. People were stunned that in just two weeks, they could effect a change and move abundance from within.

That is truly a miracle. And of course, it is! There is a universal law of miracles that says we contain the universe within us and that universe is abundant.

To the one who has, more will be given.

LIVING A LIFE OF MIRACLES THROUGH UNIVERSAL PRESENCE

LIVING A LIFE OF MIRACLES THROUGH UNIVERSAL PRESENCE

Love and blessings from the Source.

As each of you sits there, listening to me, reading these words, you perceive that we are separate.

That is what our brains are hard-wired to do.

Through years of evolution our brains have developed physiologically to be in fight or flight mode.

Separation.

So we don’t experience the universe as it is.

Within us, is the cosmos.

Within each of us, sitting here, is the God-Self, the deeper “I”, which connects to the universe as it is.

When we are still.

A universal connector as it were.

That universal connector within us, that universal gate is the consciousness of the goddess Guan Yin Avalaokiteshvara.

The Universal Gate.

Quantum physics calls this the gate of quantum entanglement or as Einstein said “spooky action at a distance.”

Because we all know the lightness of being that comes when we are in love.

It works at a distance.

The Universal Gate activates.

When I met my wife, Sumire, we were traveling together to an isolated beach in New Zealand called Whale Beach. This story is in my new book ‘Diary of a Yogi – A Book of Awakening’ coming out in October. As we reached an old farm gate and started to climb over we were both transported to the realm of pure consciousness and cosmic awareness and we could feel it moving in and through us.

Love.

Connecting us to the universe as it is.

Even when we are not close we know what the other person is doing or feeling when we are in love.

Like quantum physics, we are entangled, in love.

The Universal Gate of Guan Yin Avalokiteshvara Consciousness is not outside you.

She is within you, alive and speaking through me and through you in everything we do, when we are present, and experiencing the universe as it is.

When I met the Dalai Lama, personally, on several occasions, and asked him how to practice the consciousness of Guan Yin Avalokiteshvara he always says study, study Her Way, then practice, practice being a Divine Mother for the world with the affection of a mother for a child.

Then he said to teach 10 people and ask them to teach 10 more people the path of compassion of Guan Yin.

Why compassion?

The Buddha said “Have compassion for all beings.”

This puts us directly in touch with the power of the Universal Gate, to be present for every person we come across on our path.

Jesus said “Love your neighbor.”

The power of love to touch the hearts of every person in our day.

How are we to practice?

The Dalai Lama guided me to follow Guan Yin’s own words as spoken in the Heart Sutra or Prajnaparamitahrihdaya

Tadyatha gate gate paragate parasamgate bodhi svaha

Tadyatha – Prepare – pause, breathe, stop, listen deeply, establish presence

Gate Gate – Foundation – generosity, teaching (interconnectedness), patience of inclusiveness, effort, meditation, samadhi or wisdom and bliss

Paragate – Meditation

Parasamgate – Insight

Bodhi Svaha – Go beyond

The Universal Gate is

1 gate, 2 gates, 3 gates, 4 gates and the 5th is beyond the gate.

What is the deeper meaning?

Simply, to stay in connection with the universe, when you walk, walk.

Remember to pause and breathe throughout your day.

Stop, listen deeply to the universe flowing around you and within you.

Practice presence moment to moment through activating portals of presence.

Use the breath, breathing in breathing out.

When your mind is disengaged from its usual mindless or obsessive behavior it connects to presence, the deeper “I AM” or Source.

Use the energy body, breathing in the light, breathing out the light, feeling the ocean of light within and expanding it to feel the ocean of light that surrounds you.

As you practice deep listening and seeing, see the mind and its thoughts as merely waves on that ocean of light. The deep of the ocean is the deeper “I” or “I AM Presence”. Then day to day, though you may not notice anything, the cup, the Chalice or the Grail gets fuller, until one day the consciousness of the cosmos speaks to you and through you, because now it has filled up the cup of the heart within you, and lets you know you are home.

Some time ago I was practicing in a mindfulness group and was very very still.

For a long time.

In that presence the Dragon’s Daughter Long Nu, acolyte of Guan Yin Avalokiteshvara arose in light body form, as clear and real as you are to me when I meet you in the physical world, and she held out a pearl to me, the Chintamani Stone, which many of you know I received from the Heart of Guan Yin Avalokiteshvara as a real rare deep sea ocean pearl in this lifetime. In the Lotus Sutra, Manjushri speaks of Her as the eight-year-old daughter of the Dragon or Naga King Sagara. As she is only eight some of the Buddha’s disciples do not believe she is a Buddha. She offers a pearl to the Buddha, symbolizing her life and ego, and he accepts it. She then instantly transforms into a bodhisattva and then attains complete enlightenment. When I received the pearl from her I understood her message as I had just offered my own pearl that I had received from Guan Yin Avalokiteshvara and had used for years in healing work to a woman who was dying and needed it more than me. For me, that woman was Guan Yin Buddha and I could offer my self and all the blessings I had accumulated for her complete enlightenment.

When you do the Babaji Breath, breathing the light of AWE up your astral spine or spine of light and breathing the light of E-ternity down the spine, you are deep in presence and awareness and breathing a cosmic current around the interior stars of the chakras, connecting one to all and activating the power of the One Chakra.

You literally breathe into existence the consciousness of the cosmos within you.

The Light of the Cosmos Within.

I was contemplating the Light of the Cosmos within us as I was editing the ‘Diary of a Yogi’ today.

I have had some real AHA moments while writing and contemplating the book and entering the portals of Presence that such a book’s words create. Like all portals, words create shifts in us, and the book’s main purpose is to create a shift in consciousness, to awaken us. That is why I say that all who read ‘Diary of a Yogi’ are awakeners.

Like the Chintamani Stone, the Lotus Flower, the Phoenix and the Dragon, which are all portals of Presence, making us more transparent to the light of consciousness within us, an inner transformation that is radical and profound is the state of consciousness of an awakener. As you shift, others around you feel the shift, and awaken spiritually too.

When we are alert, still and silent and present with the words, when we contemplate them deeply in our heart, our own divine life essence, the consciousness that exists in every being, awakens from its sleep, and love blossoms. We see that same divine consciousness in all living things and we love it as our own, as one, as the One Shared Heart.

We see that divine consciousness in Guan Yin.

We love her as our own, as one with us, in the One Shared Heart.

Be Guan Yin.

Be love and compassion.

Be the Light of the Source.

Love and blessings always

LIONSGATE 2018 – 8888 – LORD OF STORMS – SHIVA AS RUDRA

LIONSGATE 2018 – 8888 – In the Year of the Tibetan Sirius Earth Dog – Lord of Storms – Shiva as Rudra

ALTAIR SHYAM

LIONSGATE 8am GMT on the 8th day of the 8th month of 2018 in the Tibetan and Vedic Traditions

If you are reading this then you are likely to have had a past life in ancient Tibet or India, identify with Sirius as the earth’s Spiritual Sun and know that you are in a cycle of awakening in this year, 2018, of the Tibetan Sirius Earth Dog.

This is the final cycle of the planet, a time when your inter-dimensional awareness is at a peak. The understanding of portals and symbols and how to use them to travel is awake.

Your knowledge of alchemy and natural magic is flowing and your consciousness is already reaching a point of presence in the sounds and light of the fifth element, space, opening the language we call light language to communicate beyond and retrieve information and energy in the state we call I AM Presence.

You can touch your deity consciousness, your Light Family, and bring healing to those around you by embodying divine masculine and divine feminine consciousness.

Your path is the Shambhala Path, a simple awareness of being and co-creation where you are aware that the veils cast over our earth with its confusion of politics and grasping for materialism has nothing whatsoever to do with you and everything to do with perspective. When you fill yourself with compassion and gratitude you will naturally surrender and let go and attract those who will shelter and feed your heart and bring you divine friendship to expand your true self and our shared heart.

You are the Light.

You know the Dynasty of Divine Mother where you embrace the desire of all beings to be spiritually free. The ocean of Divine Mother washes away your fears and bathes you in bliss.

The 8th day of the 8th month at 8am GMT falls into the embrace of Shiva and Sirius, as well as the Lord of Storms Rudra and Thor the God of Thunder. This is the realm of the stormy sixth nakshatra Ardra, the wisdom of dying daily, or as St Paul said in his letter to the Corinthians 15:31 “I die daily in Christ Consciousness.”

It represents fresh new awareness, the state of consciousness that “shines like a gem”.

It is the perception of clarity that comes after spring rain.

When activated it brings a great desire to expand, as you are feeling now.

You may find yourself in the depths of exploring the soul, powerful relationships, power conflicts, as you work to cleanse the world and alleviate suffering.

The cat or lion energy within may be aroused. Be careful not to become overwhelmed as this brings a period of a sensitive nervous system, psychic vulnerability and divine restlessness.

Gratitude and appreciation, non-violence, courage, purification of eating habits and time to be alone in nature and stillness with your loved ones and divine friends are the best remedies.

Breathing in, I am aware I am breathing in love and kindness, wisdom and compassion, breathing out I am aware I am breathing out love and kindness, wisdom and compassion.

THE LIVES AND LIBERATION OF PRINCESS MANDARAVA

THE LIVES AND LIBERATION OF PRINCESS MANDARAVA

PROMISE

Padmasambhava, Yeshe Tsogyal and Princess Mandarava are mahasiddhas in the Dzogchen and ancient Nyingma traditions.

Princess Mandarava, like Christ, Buddha and Krishna performed many miracles and left a record of her struggles and triumphs as an authentic historical Buddhist Master.

Here is Her gift to us.

We are all wisdom Buddhas.

In absolute truth our fundamental nature is the supreme wisdom of emptiness.

We are the supreme consort of whoever we devote our hearts to, when we uphold that deity’s enlightened noble qualities.

By the blessings of Avalokiteshvara Guan Yin we will care for all beings as our own.

We will lead all beings to liberation.

PROPHECY

“Have no doubt that the mother Mandarava will guide one to the future place of rebirth in the Realm of Great Bliss. Accordingly, for all beings, including the fortunate disciples of Tibet, whoever writes or reads this account of Mandarava’s lives and liberation and makes prostrations, offerings, and supplications with faith and devotion will experience the result of the spontaneous accomplishment of all wishes.”

MEDITATION

“Primordial mother of original purity, all-pervasive innate wisdom of the sphere of space, emanating from the supreme paradises of the five buddha families, principal among all dakinis, mother of the bodhisattvas of the three times (1) without exception, divine pure awareness holder (2) of the dance of miraculous display, on the supreme path of longevity, you are the goddess of all vajra buddha families! (3) I bow down to you, Mandarava!”

NOTES

(1) Past, present, and future.

(2) rig ’dzin, Skt. vidyadhara. In the Nyingma tantric system, there are four kinds of pure awareness holders: the pure awareness holder of maturation (rnam smin rig ’dzin), the awareness holder of power over life-span (tshe dbang rig ’dzin), the pure awareness holder of the great seal (phyag chen rig ’dzin), and the pure awareness holder of spontaneous presence (lhun grub rig ’dzin).

(3) The five buddha families are a tantric Buddhist typology of enlightenment in which the pure enlightened nature of the five psychosomatic constituents of sentient beings—the five aggregates or skandhas of form, feeling, perception, conceptualization, and consciousness—are seen as five male buddhas; these are in union with their female counterparts, who embody five primordial wisdoms, which are the pure enlightened nature of the five poisonous emotions (anger, pride, desire, jealousy, and ignorance). The “buddha” family is symbolized by Vairocana in union with his consort Dhateshvari, who embodies the primordial wisdom of the absolute expanse; the “vajra” family is symbolized by Akshobya in union with Buddhalochana, who embodies the mirror-like primordial wisdom; the “jewel” (ratna) family is symbolized by Ratnasambhava in union with Mamaki, who embodies the primordial wisdom of equality; the “lotus” (padma) family symbolized by Amitabha in union with Pandaravasini, who embodies the discriminating wisdom that knows the diversity of all phenomena; and the “action” (karma) family is symbolized by Amoghasiddhi in union with Samayatara, who embodies the wisdom capable of accomblishing all activities. (The five buddhas also have their respective paradises; cf. note 62.) Princess Mandarava is considered a manifestation of Pandaravasini, the female counterpart of Amitabha.

PRACTICE

The purpose of reading and sharing a terma is to discover and explore our life anew and find fresh new meaning in every moment so that this may help lead you to liberation and in turn when you share this wisdom you lead others to liberation.

This week simply meditate on the passage titled MEDITATION above and share here what arises in your awareness and consciousness.

This could be dreams, visions, meditations, actions or other insights and wisdom.

To meditate on the passage, read it three times daily and then enter into the silence and stillness and pray to Divine Mother in whatever form or formlessness She appears to you to guide you.

Consider what “prostrations, offerings, and supplications with faith and devotion” you could offer to Her.

For prostrations think “how can I show reverence to my body or others bodies this week?”

For offerings think “how can I give myself more self-compassion or nurture myself or show others more compassion this week?”

For supplications think “how can I ask Divine Mother for what I want and what do I want from Her, how do I want Her to guide me?”

For faith and devotion consider “what is my faith, what and whom do I place my faith and trust in, to whom am I devoted, how do I express my devotion?”

Luke 17:6 Jesus replied, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.”

The power of faith and devotion to accomplish all wishes that Guru Rinpoche Padmasambhava, Yeshe Tsogyal and Princess Mandarava speak about is the same faith of a mustard seed that Yeshua and Mary Magdalene spoke about.

In fact, Padmasambhava also used mustard seeds in parables and practices.

To dispel all obstructions He says

“HUM HUM HUM – say this and expel them by reciting mantras, playing music and hurling ritual mustard seeds.”

The key to liberation is to touch the Primordial mother of original purity and wisdom within us, to know Her, to realise Her, and in turn to see Her in all beings.

Then like Avalokiteshvara Guan Yin, we will care for all beings as our own, giving them the “love and affection of a mother for her children” as the Dalai Lama often says and bringing peace to the world.

In this way, as we are liberated into peace, so are all other beings.

Love and blessings

PORTALS OF PRESENCE – KOYA-SAN – YOGA OF ACTION

LIVING IN THE PRESENCE OF THE CHRIST CONSCIOUSNESS

LIVING IN THE PRESENCE OF THE CHRIST CONSCIOUSNESS

YOGA OF ACTION – PART 2

We are all Christs.

As souls we were originally with God or Source.

Spirit projects the desire to create an ‘image’ of itself, an individual expression.

Each of us.

The soul becomes manifest and projects this idea or image of the body in causal form.

The idea or image in the mind of God or Source becomes energy or the astral body. The astral body becomes concentrated into the physical body.

Through the spine of light the soul descends into identifying with matter.

This is why Presence and practice of the ascent of the soul up the astral spine through Kriya Yoga or a similar technique is so essential to liberation from the physical body.

Christ Consciousness is Presence, Self Realization.

The Christ Consciousness, God or Source Consciousness, or the True Self, is the Divine Within, present and awake.

Jesus and Mary Magdalene, the Buddha and Guan Yin, realized this divine presence and so spoke to us of the I AM essence and mindfulness in the now, the stillness beyond time and form.

Timeless presence.

I AM THAT I AM.

The second coming of Buddha as Maitreya and the return of the Christ is a transformation in us from time-bound thinking to timeless presence and pure consciousness.

PRACTICE

Thich Nhat Hanh always used a bell to remind us to be present, a call to ourselves to awareness and awakening.

If you have a small bell or a chime or the sound of one play it now as we begin.

Notice the silence and stillness and presence that follows as you listen deeply and notice the silence.

This is the Presence or Christ Consciousness activating in you.

When thoughts come see them like waves moving on the ocean.

They are not the ocean.

They are not the True Self.

The True Self, the I AM Presence is the One aware of the silence.

Be still, and know I AM Presence.

Noticing the silence frees you of thought.

Feeling the energy body frees you of thought.

Watching the breath frees you of thought.

Your senses still perceive, usually the listening, what you hear around you.

These come and go, merely objects in your consciousness.

We are most often occupied with the objects, the waves, the thoughts, and rarely with the pure consciousness, the ocean, the space of awareness itself.

You cannot bind it or claim it.

The witness or the Christ Consciousness is the I AM Presence that Christ spoke about when he said “Before Abraham was, I AM” (John 8:58) and when Moses asked God for the Name of God and was told “I AM THAT I AM” (Exodus 3:14).

There is nowhere you need to go, nothing you need to achieve, the Christ Consciousness or the Buddha Nature Within is already present.

If you find thoughts come so be it.

When you accept it you go beyond it.

That is the power of the Christ Consciousness.

Acceptance, love.

Pure acceptance is acceptance of everything.

Wisdom is knowing I AM nothing

Love is knowing I AM everything

Life and thoughts flow as waves between.

Let them be.

1) Who is noticing the silence?

2) Who is watching the breath?

3) Who is seeing the light?

The I AM Presence.

The Higher Self is the Presence of the Christ Consciousness.

When we are aware moment to moment of the Presence of the Higher Self we are living in the Presence of Christ Consciousness.

Love and Blessings

LIVING IN THE PRESENCE OF DIVINE MOTHER

LIVING IN THE PRESENCE OF DIVINE MOTHER

Thanks to a wonderful gathering organized by Gilles Asselin I am going to share a transcript of wisdom we discussed, about the presence of the divine feminine in our lives.

And today in Japan is ‘Tanabata’ the 7th day of the 7th month, known as the Star Festival when the deities and star consciousness of Altair and Vega meet. It is the day when the wish-fulfiling power of your heart is at its mystical best, so wish with wisdom knowing that what you can conceive of will manifest in full.

EXTRACT FROM CHAPTER 4 OF PORTALS OF PRESENCE

KOYA-SAN – YOGA OF ACTION – PART 1

Let’s talk together about awareness.

This is a dialogue, shared wisdom, a collective experience.

What I am about to share with you is a Chintamani Stone, an Oracle, a Sign, a meditation.

We are all divine beings, Source Messengers, bodhisattvas and earth angels.

So what we share here is a collective wisdom of our divinity.

You have heard it before, you have absorbed it, you know it.

But until you practice it, it is not wisdom.

You can feel it already, this flow of wisdom, because right now we are practicing, in the Shared Heart, together.

The alchemy, the Grail, is that opening and glowing in the Heart.

So rest in that presence.

Surrender and allow space for the silence.

As we listen, deeply, together.

Before we begin let us consider our awareness, here and now in the present.

When we consider it carefully we see that all is not as it seems.

Look around you now at your surroundings.

The chairs and table and space that surrounds you is filled with energy and consciousness. It is alive.

The body you exist in is also filled with that energy and consciousness and information.

You sense that.

Yet you are not the chairs or table, nor are you the body.

We all know at some point in time, our body will cease to exist, just as the chairs and table will.

Yet right now there is a witness, an observer, a divine presence within you that knows.

That you are awake.

It is because you are becoming still.

Be still and know I AM Presence.

We are so conditioned to our body and our surroundings that we believe they are our reality, that they define us.

Yet there is something greater, a power, a knowing within.

You feel it. That is why we are here, gathered together on this planet.

Let us experiment together.

THE DIVINE FEMININE – BEING AND THE MIND

Go into the body now, feel.

Generally speaking it is easier for a woman to feel and be in her body than a man, so she is naturally closer to Being and the Divine Feminine Presence. We all know that many ancient cultures chose female figures like Isis or Guan Yin to represent the formless transcendental reality.

The Tao in the Tao Te Ching is described as the infinite eternally present mother of the universe and Prajnaparamita in the Heart Sutra is described as the Mother of All Buddhas.

Women embody the unmanifested, the Goddess, Divine Mother.

When the mind took over it started to think of Source or God as male and as we see today much of society is male dominated. The God of authority and control is a male projection.

To connect with Being or Source requires surrender, non-judgment, openness and compassion, the divine feminine.

Mind energy runs our planet’s society whereas Being energy is in charge of everything else. However most men and women are still in the grip of their mind, constant thoughts and suffering through the pain body.

THE 7 POINT CHECK FOR AWAKENED AWARENESS

So let’s check for divine awareness, for being.

I call it the 7 point check for awakened awareness.

  1. First close your eyes.
  2. Take your attention to the breath.
  3. Breathe and become aware of the in breath as you breathe in and the out breath as you breathe out.
  4. Then become aware of the entire inner field of energy.
  5. Visualize yourself surrounded by light and that you are immersed in this sea of consciousness.
  6. Then breathe in the light. Breathe in the light. Breathe out the light. Feel the light filling up your body. Making it glow. Feel it. Feel the being-ness of this energy field.
  7. Become one with it. Merge with it. Stay in the realm of Pure Being. When you open your eyes look at your surroundings again.

Your awareness has shifted. You are now aware of the formless timeless nameless realm of Being, deep stillness, deep joy. When you surrender like this, you open to the Light within, you allow the Light to enter you, you realize you are not separate from the Light and that it is in fact your very essence.

When I was very young, just after I had the dream of being a Tibetan monk from age 2 to 3 I used to practice breathing in and out the light. I would say it to myself whenever I got ill.

“Breathe in the Light, Breathe out the Light.”

When I did the Kalachakra Tantra with the Dalai Lama this was my experience for 3 days, pure pristine bliss and peace, initiated by a blinding flash of Light from the Divine Feminine Essence of Guan Yin and the Divine Masculine Essence of the Archangel Metatron.

A SIMPLE GUIDE TO DAILY PRACTICE OF AWAKENED AWARENESS IN 7 LINES

1) Pray to your teacher guide or guru within daily

2) With the help of a qualified teacher or the guru within gain a clear understanding of the best path for you for liberation

3) Make the path the heart of your practice and meditate diligently

4) Meditate on the teacher guide or guru within visualising him or her above the crown of your head with streams of amrita flowing down through the central channel cleansing away all impurities and suffering of body speech heart and mind

5) Meditate on our body as the luminous Light Body of the deity, teacher guide or guru within descending from our crown into the eight petaled lotus of our heart and mingling with the indestructible essence drop in a single taste.

6) After meditation consider visualise and feel that everything that appears is a pure buddhafield or christgrid peopled by buddhas and christs or deities.

7) Use the activities of eating walking sitting and washing the dishes as the Buddha washing Buddha’s bowl considering them as offerings to all for their liberation. Even in bed and going to sleep practice visualising the teacher guide or inner guru in the center of our hearts so that practice becomes a continuous uninterrupted stream of nectar and virtue in everything we do.

DIVINE CHILDREN OF THE LIGHT AND NEEDS, FEELINGS, THOUGHTS

When we consider deeply.

We arrive on this planet with pristine pure awareness, divine children.

We arrive with an awareness of the face before we were born, whether it be angelic or master, bodhisattva or Elder, so we have a need to know. To remember.

Needs, feelings, thoughts.

These become critical in our development of awakened awareness.

We have a face at birth.

Depending on our choice of parent our arrival into the physical body can be somewhat of a shock.

So our mother, the one who gives birth to us, opens the energies of the Divine Mother for all of us initially. She meets our need to connect with the divine feminine in form. She meets our need to belong. She reminds us, as the Tibetans and the Dalai Lama says, that we have all been mothers in some life or other, for each other. In that sense we are all each other’s children. We belong to each other.

OUR DESIRE TO BELONG

We all feel this desire to belong. We look for it in various forms, forms we recognize from previous lives or other worlds and dimensions, forms like art or music or dance, or spiritual teachings, healing, businesses that promote wellbeing or connection. Lovers that ignite the flame in our hearts. Children that awaken our joy of being.

So there is this presence of Divine Mother, the divine feminine, awake and in our awareness to varying degrees throughout our life.

I was fortunate to have a Mother Superior guiding me into the heart of Mother Mary from birth and then Guan Yin guiding me into her heart through the manifestation of a pearl from her heart around 20 years ago. After my own mother’s death Guan Yin and Divine Mother guided me into the Light through an experience of the Kalachakra Tantra with the Dalai Lama.

The level to which this awareness of the divine feminine develops is to a large extent dependent on us developing awareness of our needs and feelings and thoughts.

Most of us operate in a mode of backwards by design.

We think and therefore we think we are our thoughts with the mass of confusion and judgments and challenges.

We have very little awareness of our true feelings.

We do not know how to express our needs.

And we are not aware, moment to moment, that we are an awakened human, an earth angel, with the power of the flame and Light of God alive and flowing in our hearts.

ACTION IN THE HEART OF DIVINE MOTHER

So how can we act with presence and awakening?

To bring the divine feminine?

Be still and know God, I AM Presence

“Surrender is creating spaces for stillness”

As I came to write this chapter about how to live, how to act, I turned again and again to my own mother, who set for me countless examples of kindness and generosity. Together with my father, she served the Cambodian refugees for many years and received a Queen’s Medal for her service to the community in placing and supporting more than 300 families and their relatives for over 20 years.

Both Yogananda and the Dalai Lama were tremendously fond of their own mothers. The death of his own mother led Yogananda in his search for Divine Mother and the Dalai Lama constantly refers to the world needing the care and affection of mothers for their children in order to understand true compassion.

When God created this universe, there were two aspects which held all energies in balance, the divine masculine and the feminine.

Yogananda also referred to mothers being God as Divine Mother, watching over humanity, through the caring heart of a mother. No matter what a child has done a mother always forgives, and it is with that caring heart that we compassionately interact with all human beings.

How can we do this practically? How can we create spaces for stillness?

Divine Mother does not judge. She looks to our needs.

We can be Divine Mothers for others in a similar way.

BEING DIVINE MOTHER – COMPASSION AND NON-JUDGEMENT

A simple example is by looking at our judgements. Through compassion we can translate our judgments into needs and then connections. This is like the deep listening of our Mother Guan Yin. The listening power of deep empathy. Let’s take an example. Most of our agitation in life comes from a need for deeper connection. Lets say someone says something we really don’t like. They might talk about someone else as stupid or impulsive or something else. Our dislike creates a reaction and often we drop into judgment too. Yeah you’re right! Or How could you think that? Now when we feel that energy of judgement which is usually preceded by agitation or discomfort, if we are aware enough we can notice the agitated energy which is a signal we are disconnecting from our compassion. It happens to me quite often, especially when I am driving! However I am getting better at checking in with myself. I want more connection and understanding. In a conversation with someone, rather than dropping into judgement I can focus on my needs for connection and understanding and ask the person why they don’t understand. Recently I had a situation in business where I wanted more inclusion and clarity so I was very direct with the person. When we are aware we can slow the conversation and our own thoughts down, moving towards stillness and let the thoughts ideas and judgments drop away so that clarity insight and inclusion can arise.

This is the power of empathy, the deep listening of Guan Yin and the caring and kindness of Divine Mother.

In the split second we are able to notice our judgements and shift our focus to our needs for connection and clarity, great insight, an AHA, can arise and the whole situation can be transformed and life can be deeply wonderful.

You become the watcher, the witness, the observing presence, the I AM Presence in the Light of Consciousness.

If you can practice this you can bring all your unconscious judgments into the Light of Consciousness. This is the lamp, the portal into presence. Stillness in action.

Try this. Take your focus away from me and into your self, into what is going on inside of yourself right this moment. Ask yourself, what is going on inside of me? Now watch. Don’t try to analyze it, let your attention rest within. Breathe, breathing calmly helps. Feel the energy of the body, the emotions. Become very present. Open yourself to the inner energy field of presence within the body. Be very still. This is the portal of presence, the doorway into being.

Divine Mother’s Presence is this beauty joy and grace of Being. She is the Presence of stillness in your life, the gap of stillness and presence that speaks to us of wisdom. The Buddha called this the Mother of All Buddhas, prajnaparamita, perfect wisdom. If you meditate on the Heart Sutra you begin to understand the stillness of the heart. This is the greatest gift, the Chintamani Stone of meditation. When you meditate the silence speaks to you. Spirit manifests in form as the Divine Mother. That was my experience of Her in the Zen garden, the wind became Her Voice, the petals Her Skin, the light Her Face, the water Her Tears.

So give all your burdens to Divine Mother. Let Her take all your suffering. A baby has complete trust in her Mother. Let the blessing as She reaches out to you bring you closer with every breath.

KRIYA YOGA – THE PATH TO THE INFINITE

Let us meditate. Try practicing Kriya Yoga or simple breathing of light up and down the astral spine, followed by yearning for Divine Mother at the third eye followed by stillness and presence.

Close your eyes, think of God, Source, Being and give Divine Mother a call from your soul. You can do this at any time. You are my Mother, my Father my friend, I want to come Home, I want to come back to You. Then see in every face the Mother and in every eye Her eyes and in every breath Her breath. Let the world be transformed in front of your eyes. Visualise and feel that everything that appears around you is a pure buddhafield or christgrid peopled by buddhas and christs, Divine Mothers and deities.

I will leave you with the Dalai Lama’s story. He was the youngest child and as such was doted on and spoilt by his mother. She used to carry him on her shoulders. When he wanted to go somewhere he pulled her ears in the direction he wanted to go. If she didn’t obey he would kick and scream.

Such is the grace of Divine Mother. If we think we know best then she will take us where we will. Only when we learn how to surrender to the Divine Will, found in the spaces in our stillness, will we truly find the path home is as simple as riding on Her shoulders.

“Have you not noticed that love is silence? It may be while holding the hand of another, or looking lovingly at a child, or taking in the beauty of an evening. Love has no past or future, and it is with this extraordinary state of silence.” (Krishnamurti)
